Well I played around with the 94 today. It has issues. I plopped a new PMD on courtesy of Fermanator. Code 56 is gone but truck still dies. feels like it's losing prime, then I notice a large amount of fuel leaking from roughly by the FFM. Probably the FFM. Most likely have to pull the intake to see what's going on back there but here's the thing. She's gotta some blowby. Pretty healthy amount. I pulled the CDR tube out of the Air INtake elbow and you could run air tools off it. I mean nice steady pressure coming out of it. I blocked it with my thumb and felt it build up a psi or too. Motor doesn't seems to smoke. PO says it did burn oil. Truck isn't in too bad a shape otherwise but it is a 1/2 ton. Shuld I fixer up and sell her, Cut 'er up for parts for the CUCV or sell the cucv and fixer up. That blowby is really putting a damper on my motivation to fix the 94. Truck also need a PS hose(the expensive one with cooler) all new tires, a wheel cylinder possibly two. Body's not bad for the age but chassis looks like a 15 yr old New england Truck.

Intake gaskets 14$. I was thinking that to atleast see if the motor is worth saving. That blow by was pretty steady though. This thing has seen some hard miles.

Can't hurt to put a t and do a fast prep for possible fuel pressure gauge later on if desired. I laid mine right in the valley, and ran the hose alongside injector lines. Then down the road its a snap.

Possibly replace the OPS with extension while your in there too is good idea.

The CUCV will be an addition, not a replacement. It's primary purpose is to destroy nature, run over a'holes and bring me home firewood...:D
After tightening the Injector lines that Lee's left loose I think I finally got it staightened out but when you drop 20k on a truck you should not have to do this stuff.

I probably should have included that having 3 pickups is not feasible(not to mention divorcable) so unless I unload the Dodge I probably would have to sell the CUCV if I kept the K1500.

My only issue with that is the truck has seriuos blowby. engine is not healthy.

I know the feeling, I am there with my 6.2L. I just remind myself, I already own it, its not going anywhere, its cheaper then buying a new truck, and everything can be fixed. Just my thoughts though, its ultimately up to you. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

These engines are notorious for sticking rings if they have not seen good oil change history.

I have a set of pistons that have all three rings stuck tighter than a bulls A$$ in fly time and the engine ran ok but had blowby.

Try filling the thing up with ATF and a fresh filter. Start it and watch the oil pressure. Run at idle or slightly above for a while to circulate that red juice well.

Shut off and let sit over night, do again, shut off, let sit overnight, do again, a few days of run and soak, run and soak.

Dump the crankcase and refill with good 15-40 and a fresh filter.

Run the snot out of it on the road a bit and see if that stops the bulk of the blow by.

I'll give it a shot. I ma sure by looking at the rest of the truck it didn't not see good service. It also sat for awhile. Oil pressure is actually very good. Most I have ever seen in a 6.5 near 50 idling.

I loosely toyed with the idea of ripping the cab and nose off and putting it on the CUCV. Then I reminded myself that I'm not 20 yrs old anymore. My wife hates my trucks, all my trucks except the Dodge. she was the one who liked it. No wonder it's been a POS....

OK tuned the radio in the 94 to Oral Roberts.... It should heal itself tonight....:D
Seriusoly when it dies it's like it ran out of fuel. I have a spare FFM from the Tahoe and new or ing kits. I am 90% sure that is where the leak it. Makes sense .

Ya, CUCV 1.25 ton trucks are bad MOFOs. Will pull stuff and drive over the top of stuff - 4.56 gears in 4-Lo range :D and a Detroit locker.

The 94 half ton cant compete with that.

Nopoe, and real cheap to lift it. 6 inch lift, set of Humvee tires and there aint too much gonna stand in it's way. Bets part is I have an oldunderdash aftermarket MarkIV A/C unit so I could easily put a/c in it.
