Howdy all,

to Walbro FRB-5 users, could you let me know how you did mount yours?
Any pic for it?

I just received one, I will prepare the plumbings to mount it on stock fuel lines (don't want to cut anything - in case I want for any reason, to go back to stock setup).

I have some ideas, but you might have get a better one to share?

Thanks.

Mine is mounted on the frame cross member I'd take pics but camera is down, suction is coming from frame mounted racor, ran hose into engine bay teed into filter mgr inlet, wired so that either the oem lift or the walbro gets power off a relay activated from the normal supply have a cutoff switch so I can de-energize the one I'm not using or at least this plan once I finish wiring it's plumbed in not powered yet.

One of you guys parting out a truck you have the female connector from a frame rail that the oem pump plugs into, send me a PM if you have one.

I installed frb-5 just wednesday, but i cutted pipes roughly (suction pipe was alreaydy cutted for T connection to espar)
I didn't take any pics wednesday, bu if you want i can take some tomorrow

LOL, yeah it freaked me out when I turned mine on the first time!!):h But since then it makes a very reasurring sound when I trun the key and lets me know its easily pumping fuel. should have tanke pis of it to. Might next chance I get. I mounted it on the back side of the tranny crossmember for ease of access with the drill and plumbed it into the stock lines.

well, i'm happy for that pump, feels like my truck runs now better, has anyone else noticed any changes?

By the way, that 1meter of that gates 10mm fuel hose was here $10 with tax, i think that was last hose from our local part store..

I noticed that my truck runs better after the install and I belive that the pump will last longer than the stock one and is rebuildable as well.

This pump is "pull through?" I've got to prime one this week, and I'm thinking I can "mityvac" right at the IP backwards and I'll have fuel.

The FRB-5 will self prime, but it will scare you when it pumps like crazy until pressure it where it should be.):h

Espar or eberspächer (espar is marketing name in states, eberspächer in europe) is fuel operated, timer or remote controlled engine heater, here is link for that http://www.espar.com/html/products/technology_coolant.html it's very nice add on at cold winters, it can warm up engine and when connected to trucks heater blower it can energize it when coolant is warm so i have warm engine and cab when i wake up on morning.
That T connection is for that heater, it pulls 0,6liters fuel in hour when on max power..

Wow at just went on the must have list for my Blazer for it's total rebuild!!!

I have had hydronic D5 in last 2 trucks, i really like it, i couldn't live with out it.
That version where water and fuel pumps are integrated to main unit is very easy to install too, it fits to side of battery tray and basically needs only coolant in&out hoses (from heater connection) electricity from battery and fuel line which could be taken by T like i did. then you just must install timer to dashboard ,pull cords for it and enjoy

Here's how I did it - Veggy version w/Walbro

It's sort of difficult to see underneath the frybrid filter. I've designed a plate to mount on the intake holes the shroud used to sit on. The plate holds my pump, and all switching valves for my Frybrid kit. I've been told repeatedly that this won't work, mounting a Walbro on it's side. It's still working.

Do you know what one would cost in the US? Thanks, Dave
