Time for new engine

That's sounds like something for the pin that holds the line into the master cylinder. I used a drift punch to remove pin and channel locks to install it the 2 times I replaced it. The slave cylinder tool is a piece of sheet metal with a 1/2 circle notch. Need to get on the phone and find out which Napa has it.

Made one of those also, try to use a fuel line disconnect tool, that may work, if you absolutely can't get the tool you can use a piece of sheet metal and make a circular piece to push into the hole and expand the clip.

The other thing you can do is use a pig on it. At least that's the term I've heard. Simply a pressurized container of oil hooked up to an oil passage.

It's got the distributor drive like hole with a drive unit that looks alot like a the shaft on a distributor. Even uses the distributor hold down clip. Found it as I was stripping old block and it got me to thinking.

Does it use the same priming tool as the SB?

I've got a 6.5 on my engine stand right now, the SB distributor will drop in. BUT the oil pump drive in the SB is the "slot and spade", the 6.5 i have apart has an Allen shaped oil pump rod. Earlier engines may have an older style oil pump with the "slot and spade", the 2 engines i have are a '05 and '06 GEP AMGeneral.) Hope that helps.

Recently I found some more cracks that I didn't take pics of.

While the block was on the engine stand I wiped the bottom end down in mineral spirits to make it a little less messy to be around. Sat there for a couple weeks then I got around to catching it with the loader and setting in the scrap pile.

Happened to notice 3 more hairline cracks in the other webs that didn't show up until the rain had washed the remainder of the crap off and the black oil seeped out. Nothing as spectacular as the big one but cracks all the same.

Well the engine finally arrived today.

I liked they way they packed it for shipping.

Here are some pics of the engine on the stand before I started adding pieces.

This is a 6.2/6.5 hybrid. Since the 6.2 didn't come with a turbo it isn't plumbed for the turbo oil supply line. It also doesn't have the OPS in the valley. If you look at the third picture you will see how this is handled. A longer supply line came with the motor.

Anyone familiar with the 6.2 know what goes in the unplugged threaded port between the plug and the large oil cooler port? My 6.5 didn't have it.

Didn't realize the bellhousing to block bolts were 3/8 and not metric. Wasted a bunch of time tonight scrounging up bolts that would work for the engine stand.

Got the motor mounts and block heaters installed. Installed one in each side. Don't need 2 where I am but decided it was easier to install a backup now instead of waiting until one died and having to do it with the motor in the truck.

Got PS glows, injectors and exhaust manifold installed and the PS glows and injectors.

Hoping I can get the remainder of the bolt on crap done tomorrow night so I can get it in Sun.
