The KOJO Tune - Available now!

ordered a cheap gauge from jegs today, going to check pressure then probably order the Walbro.
Unfortunately it's probably going to be three weeks before I can get my truck back to the drags to see how much Kojo gained me. Seat of the pants, though, I think it's substantial. Taking the camper up north Memorial Day weekend, so we'll see how that goes.

HOws the shifting?

1-2 is hard. Has been for a long time, but it's worse now. Not saying its a programming thing from Kojo, I think it's more likely the increased power is making an already "firm" shift more noticeable. I still have nothing in the truck, havent replaced my toobox after changing the bed. Might be a little more bearable with some weight on it. I don't know how long the driveshaft will live.

Don't hear of too many driveshaft incidents.. GM did well on the dually trucks with the drivetrain.. BW transfer case, Tough rear end with the shorter axles... 6.5 can't touch em :)

Any comments Kojo On the hard shift? How do your other trucks shift? Do some people like it to slam?

I dont personally know anyone who likes trans slamming gears in.. but my opinion is shift shouldnt be too slippery.
I didn't any changes to shifting parameters in Dan's tune so only thing what can make it worse with tune is following two facts:
-More power makes bigger slam
-Computer calculates torque from amount of fuel and there is more fuel...but this hasn't been problem in any trucks, prolly dan's mods are making trans slam

Dan, I think you hit it.....The increase in power is making it "more noticeable," (Bad grammer).....Firm shift is a good thing, atleast thats what the tranny guys have always said....Check universal joints, make sure they're not sloppy.

I really don't care, I've replaced u-joints before, and it isn't even the first driveshaft this truck has had. If you can't stand up to my abuse, then get out of my truck and I'll put in a heavier-duty part.

1-2 felt a little easier this afternoon... ?

Maybe she's "gotta be Learned."):h:smile5::confused:

If you've made it this far into the thread, I'd like to first thank all my customers who've taken a chance on us, and second, offer a bit of advice to new customers who may try the tune.

If you are adding a big turbo (ATT, or HOLSET or etc.) and a tune, you are going to be pulling "WAY" more air into this motor. I had a customer, wonderful customer who was having trouble with his A Team/KOJO install. We couldn't figure it out, and it's tough being remote. Turns out, the combination was pulling so much air through the system, it imploded his cone type air filter. He went back to the stock 97+ setup and his quote, not mine..."this thing runs like a raped ape."

A tune will make your rig run way better, get better mpg, pull harder etc., but it will also expose any weakness your rig may have. Be sure you have your rig all dialed with a good PMD situation, a good clean air intake, a very clean radiator, a big exhaust, and then, let's go to making big power.

Again, thank you TruckStoppers. You are the best.

Does the software (on the chip) change the stock Peak horsepower from 1900RPM to a different RPM?

I ask, because from what I understand is that to get the best MPG you need to drive your vehicle at the Peak Horsepower curve ( and Heaths chip claims MPG gain or the same)....which is 60 for me and my 3.73 gearing.

So far My MPG has gone from 16.5 MPG stock exhaust to 18MPG with new exhaust....and thats keeping my foot out of it, and under 1900RPM's most of the time.

Before my new exhaust....and when I fist got the truck, I would get consistent 15MPG. Thats when I drove it like I wasn't paying for the FUEL....

This is all with no trailering, and no weight (maybe 100lbs) in the back...

Just ordered mine with the feed the beast set up. CAN NOT WAIT. Ordered from walking J. Super nice guy.

You're going to have to wait until I get my ftb! If you get yours first I'll be P.O.d.
Funny how a computer was programmed for me and made it all the way from Finland (ahead of the ash cloud) faster than a FTB kit can get here from Idaho.

Holy Hell Dan. What can I do? I'll send another order for you today. You will be my second lost order in a year. I'm sorry you've had to wait so long.

Just send me a message! I guarantee you'll get your part before Steve.

I think it is a conspiracy by the USPS to mess with Dan's head. I bet the mail person is holding the part in his or her truck. Dan thats what happens when you wait for the postal carrier everyday. Been there done that ):h I think they call it stalking  ROFLMAO

If you want max MPG you should use your engine at max torque rpm's
Programming makes that torque curve more wider, so torque isn't anymore just peak @ 1800-2000
I believe mpg gets better if you dont drive more aggressively then with stock program, i have noticed it by myself and many of my customers are reported that too

I ordered from Walking J on Friday, and it arrived Monday... Every single time.....

Same for PMDCable too... Ordered back to back Friday, Came home monday to parts. :)

Shoot the messenger :)
