Stall - No Start

anyone have any ideas on removing the TC/flywheel bolts? I was able to get 2 of them that weren't covered with a breaker bar. I stripped out one wrench already. I sprayed it with PB blaster. I'm thinking of spraying it every couple hours and try removing tomorrow.

I use an impact. In your case a expensive lifetime warranty 6 point wrench and a breaker bar. Snap-On, MAC Tools should be able to snap the bolt head off without failing. Watch your knuckles when the bolt breaks or breaks loose. Yeah, threadlocker is a must to use on them.

I got them off. I flattened an old 15mm wrench, held it in w/ my fingers and hit with a sledge hammer w/ other hand. The PB blaster made the difference after about 2 hours of sitting.

I got the engine mostly torn down today. I found the problem. A broken rod. I took a few videos. Not sure if the block is still good or not. One of the bearing nuts broke off of the broken rod. It also had a cracked rocker and 6 of 16 bent rocker arms.

Valves plow into the pistons? You mean Pushrods bent? Scuffing in the cylinder (s)?

PMD run away or run away of some sort?

Sorry to see it all that bad.
Man this is about what my engines looked like after a bad day at the track trying to push 3 times the designed power and wanting a 6,000 rpm diesel.

So exhaust pushrods bent, pistons hit valves. Probably going to find all damaged exhaust valves and guides to match the push rods. I would not run those lifters after this. Cam needs a fine tooth comb to see if it is damaged.

Video on the timing chain would be interesting to see when it comes apart.
It seems like total timing failure or trying to do a 5 minute smoke show with the tires and didn’t know to not just ieepnit floored while roasting the rubber.

Who know's what my son was trying to do when it failed. He was on a road with speed bumps when it happened, because I went to tow him home.

If the block is good it will probably require all new internals.

Doesn't matter what the timing chain looks like: It could have broke after the fact. I would look at the timing marks and see if the chain somehow jumped a tooth. Even so this did not cause the valves to hit on my project truck so it would be several teeth broken or jumped. Perhaps the rod busted the camshaft?

These engines are governed even during a fictional burn out. HAHA burnout in a stock 6.5 :stop: you guys crack me up. This looks like a runaway. Blown turbo oil seal, bad PMD, etc. Timing chain breaks: that cam stops damn quick. It had to be rotating to bend all the exhaust "pushrods". Quit worrying about what his son did or did not do: it's not relevant.

The timing chain is tight. No broken teeth. The only issue I am having with it is getting the small gear off. I was able to pry the large one so it slides now but wont slide off because I can't get the small one to slide with it.

Anyone have any advice on getting the small one to come free?
