setup for 26,000gcvw on a 6.5

so the concensus is that as long as the license plates dont put you over 26K, the DOT cant do a darn thing about what the manufacturer's suggested GVWR and GCWR is?

I need to go check the trailer tags to see if they list any weights. if so, I am screwed. all towing pickups of ours are either at 22K or 24K on the tags.

thanks guys.

That depends on the state. Generally speaking, if your rating on the combined tags of truck and trailer are 10,001 lbs or higher and you are hauling for hire then you are required to follow FMCSA regs, obtain a choffers liscence and medical card dot and mc numbers (mc if hauling freight other than your own), log book if over 100 miles from place of business....... If your combined tags are 26,001 or higher then you are required to have a CDL. If your truck is plated over 26,001 and you pull a trailer or the truck has 3 or more axles then you are required to have an IFTA liscence. Hope that makes some sense.

luckily we have ground in KS and ID, so we just put farm use, not for hire. the stuff is ours till we get paid for it, so we are hauling "our" stuff. :)

looking good adam! you can sure get stuff together quick!

What are some of the engine specs now? 0.020 over still? Compression? Stock injectors?

Very cool impressed with how quickly you get things together.

all i did was bore/hone to .020 over, balanced polished the crank and installed new bearings... everything else was in spec so no need to mess with it... everything is stock. compression bumped to 17:1

you were able to polish the crank?

I heard it was hardened to where that should never be necessary, if you were even able to do it...

I'm just going by what I was told by a friend of mine(dura-ration). said those surfaces were extremely hard, and should never need it...

looks like your sig needs an update... 1507 more days of obama to go...

yep it had a 4 day week last week and looks like a 3-4 day this week.. got ~1500 miles on the engine thus far

grandma died thursday night and servise are 13th 14th and we put her in then ground on the 15th

Sorry to hear about your Grandma

thanks... while she was in reasonably perfect health for a 82yo that moved like a 60yo it was one of those things that you wonder if i got home if iwas going to find her alive or dead.. she went quickly (belive stroke) not having each body system slowly shut down till everything just collapse..
