Did you grind the valves yourself? My dad is giving me an old Sioux valve grinder and I can't wait to start screwing some things........ I mean doing some proper head rebuilding with it.Valves are ground and lappedView attachment 47405 View attachment 47406 New poly engine mount insertsView attachment 47407

Very creative. I like to see some good old fashioned overkillGot my bearings, seals and some other parts Yesterday. The heads are done, pic. of my valve spring compressor.View attachment 47413 View attachment 47414
It did stress the 50 ton press a bitVery creative. I like to see some good old fashioned overkill
Oh yeah, I love that you improvised, that's great to see. I'm surprised the 50 ton press worked to compress the valve springs - I would have thought it would have been easy work for something that size. It's what I have, an arbor press would be handier. I borrowed a Valve spring compressor last time.
LOL, I was joking. The gauge never moved, IIRC the springs take 80 lbs to start compression at extended length up to 200+ lbs at full compression.Oh yeah, I love that you improvised, that's great to see.
