Replacement turbo

Slim if it is defueling it is not to a point that I can tell. IAT's very seldom get that high. Like I said in previous that is the max I have seen. Still, I am trying to save up for an ATT.

BTW, pulling load at heavy throttle pre and post Turbo EGT's, on my truck, maybe between 50 - 80 deg. difference. Normal driving shows little if any difference. The gauges are twin Autometer's.

Man what a great thread. After reading through all the info here I'm still very confused about one thing.

Is the turbo louder than a GM-x??? (loud being a GOOD THING!! )
There seems to be a broad opinion on this part.

Thanks for all the work you guys(the A Team) put into this.

I think you're exhaust will be louder as there is less backpressure. Backpressure is what acts as a 'muffler' which is why a 6.5t w/straight pipe isn't obnoxiously loud as a N/A 6.5 would be.

Has Heath commented on the ATT as of yet?

The exhaust WILL BE louder. The exhaust noise under load sounds like a big rig. My neighbors don't like the fact that their houses vibrate with the low frequency vibration it emits. The A-Team Turbo lets our engine breath the way it was designed to. The added plus is a mileage increase of between 1 to 3 MPG. 1 to 2 MPG being the most common, still good, given the fact the truck runs stronger.

X2 on that. I confirm it's louder. Some buddies were even wondering why I replaced my 6.5 with a gasser engine... ):h

Woody (et al) ... i just moved all the posts about your 'haze' issue with your existing turbo to a new thread so it will get the attention it deserves.

Here it is

slim does your truck drone on the highway with the 4 inch straight and the ATT

The truck does not drone, The truck has a distinct sound at certain speeds though. And under a load it is sweet sounding, I love going under the overpasses, you can really hear the exhaust then. I have a straight pipe muffler. I love the way the exhaust sounds.

:thumbsup:TD sent Heath the prototype ATT months ago, I under stand he's a busy guy, but has he made any comment or got to try it? I'd love to see it (twins?) on his LSR truck:thumbsup:

Several problems causing delay, bad weather/ice on "test track" wanted until road was safe for testing, then last update was mechanical difficulties on the test vehicle, oil filter blew a seam, 0 oil to engine=dead engine, not sure where in rebuild they are, but will be tested after the rebuild. Also Bill expects to not need to change program as the twin turbos did not require a program change.

ok i was curiouse what the great deal was so i went through almost the whole check out process and it never had a place for the code????
