Looks good AK. Hey is there a part number on that restriction indicator? The broken one on mine didn't have a part number on the piece that was left, I plugged the hole but may replace it if I can find one.

Difference between the two is size, Turbine Doc has both as he has both boxes in different rigs. He told me he was pleased with the improvement in air flow over a new stock filter element. The larger filter will not fit in the smaller box, the lid won't fit.

Yes, Donaldson is the manufacturer of the media and these filters do very well in this application. I'll see if TD will chime in here with his experience.

$60 is the retail price before shipping and tax, I give all members a substantial discount. PM me with your zipcode for a quote.

When I ordered 1st one Ashton said 2 p/ns listed for the 6.5, we weren't sure which would work so I ordered both the EaA112 Blue one you see in pics is the large one, I kept it as I'll modify my air box to make it fit, the white one is an OEM filter, the other Amsoil is in the burb which isn't here right now for me to shoot pics of, but is physically sized same as the OEM filter.

Both the burb and truck are 1/2 ton rated and have the same filter air box, I'm thinking the larger filter fits a 4500 series truck with a slightly larger air box.

The burb with the Amsoil has a slightly more pronounced whistle than my truck does with the OEM filter, the truck ran a Amsoil foam for years based on Kennedy recommendation at Diesel Page and Spicer type study there on air filts where the Amsoil foam was top of the heap in 2000, Amsoil foam started breaking down and no longer mfg by Amsoil, replaced by the Donnelson type they sell now.

I'm very pleased thus far with mine, silica levels are well within safe limits on my oil samples results, elevated silica is indication of poor air filtration.

I think the other p'n for smaller filter is EaA111 but Ashton will have to verify it, but as you can see the 112 is much larger and just does fit in the lower part of the air box; my truck never rests ling enough thesae days for me to all things I wanna do with it like building a custom cold air set up for it. OEM filter is 1" smaller OD than the 112 filter.

TurbineDoc, you are the man. Thanks for the pictures. Now a dumb question. How do we tell a K47 box from a normal one? Is it marked somewhere? I ordered a K47 from a 3500 but I couldn't bet my life on me having the right one.

Packratt, I got mine from the same place as you. So I'm ASSUMING that the K47 is slightly larger to take the slightly larger filter? I just assume mine is K47 becasue that is what I asked for and it came out of a 3500.

As you can see from that picture mine says it takes the A1300C or for severe dust use the A1306C filter. The A1306C is the bigger filter and if it didn't say it on the box I would think I had the wrong one because the bigger filter makes it very tough to get closed. Next time I will probably just go with the smaller filter.

Jifaire stated in an earlier post that the smaller filter actually flows better, I was gonna ask him about that but I imagine it's due to the extra room in the box with the smaller filter. Maybe he will see this post and provide his reasoning.

Yeah I put the smaller one in mine. I would think the big one would starve for available air. Filter would basically be touching the box in most places.

its not a k47 but it did only cost me $42.00 bucks, i haven't driven with it yet but i imagine it will do just fine. the filter came with a shroud that goes almost half way around the filter to help block some of the underhood heat.

OK Fonecop, now I get what you are saying. Thanks!!

You're welcome. Seems like if this box is made for that filter that it would fit better, that being said the one I used was a WIX cross referrence for the A1306C. Has anybody used the ACDelco A1306C and is it that tight too?

I just looked at mine and even though it is the K47 (I checked) I don't see how a bigger filter would fit (without being squashed). I'll make sure I have the smaller one in there but I'm 99% sure I do.

I just checked. I have the smaller filter. Now the question is when I order the Amsoil, do I get the bigger one and open up my box a bit or go with the smaller, easier to use, filter. I don't mind running without an airbox lid in the winter but what would be the point of CAI if I ran it lidless in the summer? Opinions guys? Iwant to order the Amsoil from Wrecker within a week.

HighSierra where did you get that sewer pipe fitting? All I could find was a schedule 40 90. On one end it fit my stock turbo hose perfect at 4" OD but the other end was only 3 & 1/2" OD and needed to be about 3 & 3/4" OD to fit tight in the filter. I went ahead and installed the new air cleaner with the turbo hose that came with it but would like to find the less restrictive 90 and use my stock hose.

I believe mine is only 3 1/2 OD on the filter end as well. I also found it to be too loose, so i just wraped some electrical tape around the elbow a few times to increase the size. After that it fit snug and has been holding fine. Some other people had reported theirs fit fine in the filter, but i felt it needed to be tighter.

Wrecker and Turbine Doc..........thanks a bunch for posting the filter info, sizes, and pics. This was what i was looking for last year but couldnt find much of any info. Soon as my stock filter is plugged ill be sure to order a new amsoil!

When changing my glows today, I got a closer look at the airbox. I'll be going with the smaller filter. I would think the bigger one would almost cover the fender hole!

When I try to stuff the big Amsoil in the air box that is what happens, no clearance either side of the air box & lid does not close, the smaller one fits perfectly.

I hear ya Turbine Doc. I thought "If I put a filter 1 inch bigger in diameter in there, it will cut off the fender access hole". I'm going with the EaA111 for sure and already sent Wrecker a PM.
