This pump then should be a good one.

I never remember seeing anything about right or left side.I put that return fitting back into the pump that it came with.
Got enough wires strung and connected, ground straps and such.
Turned the switch to run, cleared codes, there were none but just precautionary measures.
Hooked up the remote starter button, cranked over the engine.
I was in the oil well business, dug out the turbo oil feed line plug, plugged that leeeek.
Several more RPMS and had fuel at the injector line nutz.
Removed all the grounding jumpers and tightened the line nuts.
Next is reinstall them GPs.
I forgot how confusing it is when the book says to tighten the right side plugs to 13 FT LBS for the 6.5 and all others to 17 FT LBS.
I just dont unnerstand their thinking.
Off to search the forum to see whats said about that.
Seemed mighty dumb to me. Unless it could be when the right side always would run at a hotter temperature, before the balanced flow system.I never remember seeing anything about right or left side.
I have no idea what number I used to torque the glow plugs to.
I know. I just tighten and try to get the return barbs in a decent position.Heck I've never put a torque wrench on a glow plug before
Too late. The biggest problem with ssdiesel is that he won’t honor any warranty.
False advertisement of how well something fixes a problem when it’s just another version of similar issue.
As to an ip he had rebuilt & marked up the profit on: he probably didn’t have anything to do with the rebuilding of it. Thats all just how well did the actual rebuilder do.
Blue tag vs red tag is just signifying it is a rebuild. Stanandyne doesn’t rebuild pumps. There are certified shops that will install the tags. Unfortunately the tag is just another part number so anyone can order blank tags.
Sitting on the rebuilt ip does no good. At some point it needs installing for verification if it is any good or not. So before or after this trip- do the install and find out.
A tired ip is much harder on the pmd.
I torque everything.Heck I've never put a torque wrench on a glow plug before
Closest shop that might have any knowledge of the 6.5 injection systems would be 80 miles to the east.Do you have a decent IP shop close by, maybe they can do a diagnostic test for you to determine if good or bad for not too much money, or can apply cost of test to their rebuild fee, if test determines it needs a rebuild.
There was a time I could pull tight on a bolt ir a nut and when I got done it would be within a 1/4 turn of torque spec.I torque everything.
I used to break 3/8 bolts without even noticing they got tight.
Then I got so weak that I couldn't tell anything.
I've been hosed by other people I had do work for me, that didn't use a torque wrench
Both, over and under torqued.
That sux, I guess he might have a point, low volume of business maybe not worth his while to work our dinosaur tech IPs, still sux.Closest shop that might have any knowledge of the 6.5 injection systems would be 80 miles to the east.
While I had the truck apart I asked if He would be willing to set up his test bench and make a run through My pump.
What He told Me, if it us working, run it until it isnt. I dont have the time to pull out that equipment, set it up and run test on just one injection pump.
I told Him to charge me for a whole day, make it two if necessary but he would not budge.
Maybe I should try to buy his test bench if its set up to do the DS4 pumps.
