Truck ran fine last night.
Shut off 4 hrs from home when I went into truck stop. Restarted and truck ran long enough to back out of parking space. Would crank, halfway fire then nothing.

Have about 1/2 tank of fuel. Fuel to filter manager. Fuel to injectors.

Pmd was remote mounted. Pulled it and hooked direct to ip on heatsink to check if extension cable bad.

Once you have fuel coming out the injector lines, make sure your air filter isnt restricting.

Any smoke coming out exhaust when you crank?

That's my first thought. Have 1 or 2 at home in the truck with the teams off. Catch is that is 230 miles away.

Tow truck enroute. Cost me 350 for the head gasket and that was 100 miles closer to home. OUCH!!!

Oh that sux. In the glove box is good, but already mounted to a heatsink next to the one in use is better. A 5 second fix on the side of a freeway with cars zooming past is annoying, but way better than 10-15 minutes, in the weather with tools in hand.
Too late for this go around, but do it before the next one. AIf

Quick plug move for diagnostics would be good, but if you are getting fuel out the injection lines, Im not sure i would chase that route before eliminating others.

Any bubbles in the clear ip return line? Can someone crank it and you see fuel flow through the clear line?

It took some cranking to get some fuel at injectors. 1 maybe 2 Will hit once. Then nothing. Same thing last night when engin was hot. It is like it is getting an intermittent signal from pmd.

Return line likely has been replaced with black fuel line.

Currently it is cold and rainy outside. Dont have rain gear with me and limited tools.

Further physical diagnosis will have to wait until truck and I are home.

It's been too long since I've had a truck with stock lift pump. Does oem pump make a rattle like wal bro pump? Cause I'm not hearing it.

Yes. no noise means its not working, but noise means it is making noise, it still may not be pumping fuel. I have seen sooo many liftpumps chatter away and never move a drop of fuel.

Buy 6" of clear 1/4" tubing and swap that in before you start chasing imo. You said your getting fuel at the injectors, if it is turning fast enough and no air restrictions, you are most likely looking at air in the lines.

On the 95 I would be sure to get leroy's lift pump relay upgrade. If you had that, you would be able to turn the lift pump on and let it run for diagnostics.

I usually start at all the same places - check fluid levels, run about 1/2 gallon of fuel out the T drain with the lift pump jumpered - or in my case with fused toggle switch turned on - I have relays mounted to run the lift pump on my 95 and older 6.5's. When I mounted the relays, I installed a fused toggle switch to turn on the lift pump whenever I desired. I believe leroy's kit now has an on/off switch included.

I also check vacuum and take a look at the grounds.

I mount a PMD on heat sink inside each bumper nostril. I mount them so the connection is inside the nostril, but pointed towards the opening. Makes it easier to switch the harness if need be. If I was rich, I would have an extension harness for both PMD's so the connection cold be changed under the hood instead of below knee level.

Sometimes I have to pop rivet or bolt a piece of stainless or aluminum to the heatsink to mount it facing the direction I want it facing. Most often I can use the front license plate bracket mounting bolt as is. Occasionally I have had to install a longer bolt.

For the 96 suburban On the passenger side I used an SSdiesel supply heatsink and PMD - so I made a stainless Z 1"x 1 3/4"x1" That left me just enough room to get the nut on the license plate bracket bolt to mount it.

Just a few ideas for the future.

Swapped pmd no change.

Went direct from battery to lift pump and lift pump works. Have fuel at filter and drain.

Lift pump not working when hooked to oem wiring.

Need to find someone to crank while I hold wires

Cranked with lift pump running. Have fuel to injectors. Got a little smoke, didnt seem like enough for the smount of cranking, but still no fire.

Will see if I can find some clear tubing to look for bubbles. The truck was showing no symptoms of having air in fuel prior to it not restarting.

All fuses look good. Swapped fuel relay with no change.

Do you have anyone to turn the key for you..... could spray WD40 into the intake and see if it fires... really does sound like lack of fuel... You said you have fuel when you hot wired the lp, how much of a stream did ya get...
