Ok here is the story.. My 1998 6.5td started stalling here and there. So after alot of reading i changed the pmd box and relocated it. Well that didnt change anything as it still did the same thing. So the truck stalled one day and never restarted. I went threw the normal things like all fuse's, ground's, optic sensor, crank sensor, lift pump, sock in the tank, fuel filter and so on... I checked all voltage to plugs on the ops, shut off valve, pmd and hooked up my scanner to see if there was any codes.. Well no codes, and it showed there was oil pressure so the crank sensor is working. Well i got fuel to the injection pump, but its not comming out of it. I replaced the ip pump and installed another pmd and even replaced the lift pump just because i was getting fustrated and i still have the same problem. Now i what i do have is fuel to the pump. I open the fuel filter and crank the engine and fuel shoots out great.. i pulled the shutoff valve out cranked the engine and fuel poured out fast. So i guess my question is..... What would cause no fuel to go down the injector lines? I know new parts doesnt mean they work, and all i can think of is the new ip pump just isnt good...Im just trying to make sure theres nothing else to check before i tear it down again.. I did pull the lines off the injectors and cranked it for about an hour hopeing to get something but still have nothing.... Any ideas?? Anything i can try? Thanks for hearing me out and helping in any way..

You relocated the PMD, did you buy a cable and from where, or did you extend your cable?
Sometimes a new cable is defective.

You might wanna check the wires under the boot of the FS back of the IP,i helped a guy once with a no start with new IP,happened 1 wire was hanging loose.

I checked voltage at the end that plugs into the pmd. The shut off valve i checked the plugs voltage, took it off and wired volts to it and watched it open and close. I also replaced it with a new one just to be sure, then checked it as well..

Dont know if this helps or not but i followed this guide to the tee TWICE!!!

Fuses may be good but are they making contact? Take the fsol and ecm out of the engine bay fuse box and shine the spades up.

ok i tryed with the cts dissconnected, nothing, then tryed with the cps dissconnected, nothing.. then tryed with both dissconnected and nothing.. Each time i tryed for 10 minutes to make sure but nothing.
I cleaned the fuses nice and shiney, no go. I pulled the box apart and pulled the connectors out and gave them a good once over as well. Still no fuel down the lines... Thanks for the great ideas guys, but i think im just gonna have to conclude the pump is bad and return it for another. Unless of course anyone has any other ideas??

There was an instance here not long ago where the crank position sensor was installed 180 degrees out .

Lets get back to some basics...how much fuel in your tank? Do you have fuel in the bowl? How old is the fuel filter? I had a friend with a no start problem on his burb a few years back. Turns out his tank "imploded" from a bad fuel cap. Turns out his guage read wrong and he actually just ran it out of diesel.

Take it for what it is...just a thought. Good luck!

Well guys i tryed some spray in the intake, no go.. Tryed to start in limp mode, no go.. Checked voltage to the pmd while cranking and it was fine. And i got 3/4 of a tank of fuel. Fresh fuel. Not just guessing on the amount as i did drop the tank to check the sock before i did anything. Great advise from all of you, its been very helpfull and i am greatfull. I might not of fixed the problem yet, but i have learned alot from this venture. I got a new pump on the way again so i will try that and see what happens. I just dont think there could be anything else and if this doesnt work i guess im to far lost to go further and will have to take her to the shop... God knows i dont want to, but its been 5 weeks and about $2,200 later now, so insted of getting further fustrated i will just have to giggle, sit back, have a few shots of crown and watch the reaction on the wife's face when the shops bill comes... Mine as well try to keep some kinda sence of humor.. Anyways.. Thanks again for all the excellent advice and for the wisdom i have gained from this.. Good job guys...

If it didn't try to start with the spray in the intake, you may have other problems. What did you shoot it up with? It should try to fire off starting fluid whether it is getting fuel or not.

It probly would of fired up if there was some trace of fuel in there to. But just starting fluid alone wont start a diesel from what i read..Doesnt there need to be some base fuel in there to start up? It did spitter but not start. And it didnt use oil and ran very smooth before all of this started.

To do starting fluid right it's a 2 man job. 1 to crank and one to spray. And please make sure you disable the glows
