before we get too far into things. what did you determine on the smoke. maybe even post a video of how it's currently running and the amount of smoke that's going out the tail pipe. what it smells like too.

Does it clear up as soon as the truck warms up?

I also noticed and didn't realize you have a truck with an EGR. this might be an issue without the vacuum pump. But we will get to that later, I am not sure if that will cause any issue when you attempt the TDC relearn. just make sure you leave all the solenoids connected for it.

I can't tell what it smells like I'd say it's not sweet like coolant

Also I have some oil leaking from tye filter or above area maybe small fuel leak I can't tell yet truck did end up dying and ses light so let me check that out

It sounds good. Is that just one large bubble in the line or do you see a constant flow of bubbles in the clear line?

I didn't look until after it died but smoke didn't seem bad it smoker more the other day but she been sitting half a decade

The large one should go away and only leave you with one small one there that will seem to never go away but what you don’t want to see is a constant flow of air bubbles

If it will start again- video that clear line.

Air in the fuel will make crazy things happen- make hard starts, no starts, low power, might set no codes and other times sets a few codes. GM made putting on the clear line and checking it step #1 for a reason.

When it is coolant in the exhaust it is overwhelmingly obvious smell. Little kids ask- what smells like sugar. So you have oil/fuel creating smoke. Don’t even worry about it until she has 20 miles on it after sitting so long.

The manufacturers of coolant anti freeze products was mandated to put some kind of additives into the coolant so it dont taste sweet. Not sure what year that was. After I heard about that I took a taste on My flinger. It has a bad nasty taste to it now.
I dont know how sweet this newer formula would smell with that additive in it.

With the timing offset already at -1.41 or -1.42, whatever it is set at.
Would it be beneficial to do a timing offset relearn ?
I have mine set at about -1.45 and it runs real nice.

Since he replaced the IP the software is only showing the old value stored in the PCM. Once he initiates a relearn it might be way different

Got the air out of the line now just little bubble started seems to run good but when i opened oil fill a constant puff white smoke I think I read that means she toast I gave her my all and learned a lot but let me know what yall think

Mine has a decent amount of blow by and she’s still kickin with a hair under 300k. She’ll still get out there and dance on the highway

Honestly I don’t think it’s been ran enough yet to determine how tye blow by is. With it sitting so long I’m sure they’ll be some rings that need to be seated in again
