New clothes for Ma Deuce

Just on the off chance that some day you get the itch and get a Dmax, You won't look back...):h
In the meantime, enjoy Ma Deuce!

This trucks a keeper for lifer now! Looking great!
I'll tell ya Matt, that ain't the half of it!! Literally! The cab is supposed to get painted this week. Of course, this is the week for TAKS testing, a series of state-wide standardized tests given to every high school student. Supposedly the guy doing the shooting has already passed everything and doesn't need to retake any of the tests. So hopefully, as we speak, the cab is turning red. Be really cool to be able to post pics of it this weekend.

Good positive story and a great product result. Very nice.
:iagree: Ya know, all seriousness aside, this has been one purchase I've never regretted. You can read the whole saga here:
http://www.oilburners.net/forums/showthread.php?t=17127

You'll notice quite a few familiar names (the usual suspects ):h ) and you'll get a great look at how folks in the 6.5 world go out of their way to help each other. Like I said, I've never regretted anything about this purchase.

Can't wait to see her all back together!

Sweet!
You and me both brother!!

being a kid in a auto high school class i thank you for letting a class "borrow" it for a few months to learn on it. i cant tell you how frustrating it is to get people to bring in there own vehicles into our shop for more than an oil change and tire rotation. its gets annoying and boring working on the same vehicles with fake problems that our teacher put into them so we could diagnose it. and usually they never get their orginial problems fixed because we dont have the money.

You know, what dave did is a fantastic idea. If someone can spare their trucks use for a year, its a free way to get some nice work! And it helps teach the next generation...

Actually, Matt, I'm not that noble. Ya see, the original estimate was Christmas! :D Of course, I also expected an 'OK' job suitable for a work truck. You know, a small run here and there, splotchy paint, some visible body work. Instead, the body work has been meticulous and the shooting very impressive. I'm impatient and I miss my truck, but man, is it gonna be sweet!

Someone find me a school in CT and ill gladly donate my 95 for a few months/years or whatever it takes! Truck is gonna be off the road for an engine rebuild anyways

Friday morning I'm headed to OKC to check on my dad. I'm gonna stop in and take some pix of the progress so far. I talked with Randy today and he said they spent yesterday dealing with over a dozen hail dings on the hood. I didn't even know I had any hail damage!!

This morning, they shot the rear fenders and the front filler strip that goes below the grill and above the bumper. Then they spot primed the fixed areas on the hood. Tomorrow, they're gonna shoot the cab, so by the time I see it Friday, it'll be dry. OH YEAH, there's gonna be pix!! :D

Dang them sneaky hail dents! I totaled a car because of hail dents that I thought weren't that bad. The body shop counted abunch and made their quote per hail dent.

I might have to take my truck to the local vo-tech and see what they can do about my rust! ):h

Seriously do it. Like mentioned before it may be hard to find a vehicle thats worth a damn to work on for extended periods of time. I almost want to buy another 6.5 with this intention only.

OK Rob, here ya go! The fenders are bolted back on the bed.

Later Friday, they shot the cab. Monday morning, they remounted the bed, front bumper (and PMD) and bolted on the new grill. I stopped by Monday afternoon on my way back from OKC. See for yourself:

Oh yeah, I sorta misunderstood what they were shooting. Randy originally talked about color coat/clear coat. He changed his mind and shot urethane instead. Guys, I gotta tell ya, that tickles me spitless! :D When I worked the docks, our trailers were painted with urethane. It was a serious hassle to shoot, but nothing stuck to it, so it was super easy to keep clean. Soot form the exhaust just washed right off. VERY low maintenance. This is turning out to be pretty amazing!
