My new to me 6.5 L TD motorhome

Listen. It's been 2 days since you made this post and so far we haven't seen pics. This won't fly. We demand pictures yesterday. :)

The best mpgs was from eastern Wyoming into western Nebraska 10.25 mpg. Otherwise it varied, 7.9, 8.5, 9.3 depending on the wind/terrain.

Sorry about the pix yet. I've been busy. It's still winter up here in MN you know and I have this thing called work. I did take it to work last Saturday though to wash the road grit off. Just didn't get time for pix. Just this one.

We go on 4800+ emergency calls a year, so there isn't a lot of time to wash such a big personal rig in the fire station :) I'll see if I can get some pix in the next few days, although there's talk of another big snow storm coming. :nonod:

Here's the first 3 photos. The first one is the engine bay with doghouse cover removed. Also note pointer pointing to PMD extension cable connected.

The next is the aux trans cooler.

The third is looking into the engine access door.

GM-2 turbo s/n 2386 I wonder how many GM-2s were made and were those specific to RV engine installs ??? I wonder if ATT could fit in that location and what the net effect would be on those rigs, I kind of figured those to be center turbo mounts vs side mounted.

I wonder if ATT could fit in that location

It doesn't look like a T3 flange. Those glows under it look like they'd be a pain to r&r as well as get hot

It has vacuum control on the wastegate. It might be T3, just looks like the T2 is a little more compressed with no space between the mount and the housing.

Got to get a bigger turbo in there for sure.

I believe the Workhorse Chassis is the same type used in the UPS/Fed Ex type trucks. They are pretty stout. Here are a few websites I saved when looking for a few parts for a truck a while ago.

http://workhorse.com/Default.aspx?tabid=188

http://www.morganolson.com/

If you click on some of the tabs, there are motor home and commercial sub tabs that show more specifics.

More pix

#1 another shot of the turbo

#2 new fan and clutch

#3 absence of CDR, just a tube that dumps out behind engine

It's a front mount engine and I won't be getting many pix from the under side until June or so, when ever the snow goes away :rolleyes5:

There is one large elect fan in front pushing back through the AC cond and radiator. The AC cond also shares the bottom 1/3 with an aux eng oil cooler. I thought I had pix, but guess not. I'll retake.

Here's some shots of the aux engine oil cooler portion of the AC condeser and connections. I guess I did have the pix ;)

And, here's a pic of the turbo I got with the 18:1 Penninsular engine. Maybe swap in the brand new engine, turbo, IP, water pump, injectors and GPs. Then I'd have all brand new. BUT, this engine swap requires engine access from the bottom. Remove front axel, suspension and such. :( This might be way too much for me. I don't have the facility. There is a local company the does though. Maybe I'll have to have a word with them?

I guess someone in Engineering did not buy the entire BS about the CDR and the crank case requiring a vacuum so the seals don't leak???

That kinda leads me to believe the sky won't be falling if we just ran a vent hose from the valve cover to the ground...

Thanks for sharing the pics, nice looking clean rig ya got there
