Me again, new problem

Yes damaged cooler line can kill pressure and flow, engine killer scenario. However highly unlikely- Cant imagine how you could pinch the line, but inspect to be sure. If you did damage the line, replace them. A broken line will dump all oil in a matter of seconds and kill the engine.

I would really expect a pinched wire first. Bad ops- unless you smacked it with something, can't imagine how it would go bad during the chain swap.

If you didn't recover all of the chain pieces and one somehow pierced the pick up screen it could damage the pump, but you should have seen that when the pan was off. Also you could have knocked loose the pick up tube and it came free of the oil pump. Unfortunately removing the pan again is the only way to verify if this is the issue after checking oil pressure with mechanical gauge and still no pressure.

Ok,

Checked fuses, one blown for interior lights. Not related I'm sure

Swapped out my ops with a spare, still 0 psi.

Put a mechanical gauge on, still 0 psi. (Sooo glad I bought that ops extension from Leroydiesel.com)

My guess is now, I need to pull the front diff and oil pan again, hopefully something in there is obviously wrong.

Any suggestions?

You asked about the cooler lines. Anything about those we should know?

Where did you attach mechanical gauge? Pics?

Maybe snapped the oil pump drive connector?

Oil cooler lines are from Leroydiesel.com also, doubt they're the problem. Braided are tough to kink, any way I'll still check them.

Gauge was put on the end of the extension hose that is in where the ops normally is. I can get a picture after work, if I remember.

Where exactly is this connector?

Pull the oil pump drive out and see if the pump turns . If you have an older drive you could make a primer . Make sure you plug the very small hole ! Thanks MGW .

once when I had no oil pressure, I shut her off right way, replaced oil filter and worked.... Figure throw something out there, these problems can drive one crazy ..,
Hopefully ya figure out

Ok gentlemen,
I'm going to try a new filter today, crossing my fingers...

Pulled the oil line off the turbo, no change.

I'll check the oil cooler lines while under there, I doubt they're the issue though.

Once I pull the pan and notice no obvious problems, it's there a way a can verify pump operation?

Before you pull the pan you may are able to work it from the topside as @EWC and @Will L. suggested. I would pull the oil pump drive aka: RPM sensor, Vacuum pump: You know the Distributor drive area that also drives the oil pump? Pull it out and check both gears and oil pump driveshaft. Then as mentioned you need to rent or make a oil pump primer and spin the oil pump with a drill. Last turn the engine by hand and make sure the cam gear for the drive actually turns.

IMO something locked up the oil pump and something in the drive broke or twisted off. I have never understood the plastic part on the oil pump side of the driveshaft and if it's failure would drop the driveshaft out of something.

I assume no oil from the turbo line?

Wow! There's nothin' like the feeling you get when you think you are gonna have to tear an engine apart.... then try one little thing..................................

I had to stare at the gauges for a while... Didn't believe them.

Seriously thought changing the filter was a waste of time

Going to book it in for a TDCO tomorrow. Thanks to everyone who contributed to my issues in this thread. Couldn't have done this without you guys.

.
Lol, when I did my filter change i didn't think would help either, hehe

I dropped my oil pan, to drill a turbo drain in it, I did an filter/oil change week before (so didn't want to change a good new filter)but I guess after sitting a week drained , something plugged,...

Glad all is well, I bet after the shock , you were grinning ear to ear!!

It's possible you just had an entrapped air bubble in the oil system.

I would consider a claim against the manufacturer of the oil filter. The filter must be intact for a claim to be *uh* simpler.

You absolutely need to know what's in the filter. IMO it may have clogged from coolant contamination from the repair.

You may also have to repair the "stuck shut" oil filter bypass valve in the oil filter area.

Myself I would cut the filter open to see WTH and go after them if I shortly lost the engine from lack of oil flow.

Time to cut the oil filter? to see what happened.

So, the oil filter may have caused the chain to break or the chain broke caused the oil filter to clogged?

IIRC, I posted about the ACDelco Oil Filter here somewhere but everybody brush it off as a cause for low oil pressure.
