Alright, the wheel, and compressor or installed. Before dis assembly, I scribed the shaft, and wheel just in case. If you look at the pic below, you can see both the CKO, and Holset wheels have a section ground off for balancing that is almost exactly the same length. I lined the holset wheel up on the shaft with this in the same spot. I know this probably doesn't help at all, but it made me feel better. :hihi: The height of the blades on the holset wheel is slightly taller, as I think you can see in the pic. Everything fit perfectly, and operates just as it should. As a side note, I do have to say that casting technology of the CKO turbos appears to be better than the Holset, as my old compressor is much nicer looking than the Holset.
As far as noticeable improvements go, there is not much. With the wastegate set the same, I'm up 2 lbs of boost. I was seeing a max of 18, and I now have 20. Cruise boost is identical. The truck feels fantastic, but I don't really notice much seat of the pants difference. It is kind of nice to see the Holset name on my turbo, rather than turbone! :agreed::hihi:
