HX40II Turbo Install

To each his own, Brother. We all have our favs and an opinion on all the others. It's like the "glue thread" on the wood workers forums. Everyone has his opinion. And if it makes all of us that use something other than what you use "gay" then, I guess so be it. I just hope you feel better about your self.

I use the Specter and have very had good filtration with it. And that is just my opinion.

K47 with a K&N on mine.

That will hit the trash some time in the future for two flat panel K&N's.

But that's another thread and another story.....

I hit the bone yards in Oregon for a few years trying to find the K47 filter set up. For some reason it was the first thing to go. I guess I should try now I'm in a new area with new bone yards.

For a K47 check out Car-Part.com online salvage yard database. Just look it up a place with lowest price near you and give them a call. The piece that connects to the fender is secured on there pretty good, so should come with it, but is something to make sure when talking to them. Also may come with the elbow, the rubber turbo elbow and silencer tube thing. Although I, and anyone with the older rubber boot is better to use the PVC elbow with it.

X2.
@ Jhornsby3, you know about using the PVC St elbow?

I'm not sure. I have the stock rubber elbow that was on the 95 filter box. Then I just went to Lowes and got a pvc plumbing elbow to my filter. So I'd probably need the whole assembly. I'll have to check into this when I get out of school and back to work.

Yeah I have a 4" female/female with two 6" pieces of tubing glued into the elbow to take the rubber elbow and the filter.SD532607.jpgSD532358.jpg

It's not that small. Just looks that way from the angle and that big assed plastic elbow. They have a 750cfm IIRC and it does make a huge differance over the stock one for sure.

Its just small compared to my filter. Yours might suck in more air then the stock setup but its sucking in hot under hood air which the motor dont care for.

That is why I run thew WMI. You know, I have heard that but have yet to see anything negitive. Everything runs the same, well a bit better. But I run the WMI just about all the time.

Yeah i figured that was kind of small for the 6.5 but he is still running the stock turbo most likley running less then 15psi

At the most I have hit 11psi of boost. I don't have it turned up too much. I'm not into pushing it. With Murphy always hiding in the vehicle, I try to stay on the safe side.

I'll look for one. Is there one that is better than others? I've seen them on the dodges and furds around the bone yards.
