Help...My truck overheats when towing...

DD,

It's not going to be sharp and won't project past the bumper. I'd think what's behind the scoop would present a greater danger to anyone I'd hit than the scoop. Besides, I live in Oklahoma...there's like five people between my house and any destination of the truck.

SD,
The thread is about overheating. By at least one person's measure the factory cooling isn't sufficient. I'm just having a little fun going a different direction in pursuit of thermal exchange. I can't see the trouble or harm for that matter but I may have trouble getting to it before I get my neck reconstructed.

Since I'm going to get a donor grill, I'll get video if yarn taped to the hood/window of both rigs and maybe some thermal readings and a wind speed meter at the grill.

Science and danger? No. Fun? For me.

Our rigs are factory compromises to cost and averages. Mine has only "overheated" twice, bith times in the desert going uphill slow, dual A/C on;
got up to 210deg. F

Dropped a gear and reved it more, cools it down.
Never had this problem on ANY other rig I've had (over 75, maybe 100).

Yay GM, we get to fix these and have nice cheap diesels, don't let the word out. Keep complaining and let the public keep our prices low.

Well according to GM it didn't overheat, as you need to start worrying around 260. :eek:
