Header exhaust leaks

If you get the headers back and the gaskets - then determine the stage 8 set you have is too short, what about the header bolts you already have? Drill and safety wire them.

For many vibration issues nordloc is great, but due to expansion & contraction from temps I wouldn't use them here.

I've looked at Proform 66752 - Wedge-Locking Header Bolts .

And Percy's 310074 - Vibe-Lock Black Oxide Bolt

The hard part will be getting the size I need when that is determined.

The first one that looks like it has 2 flat washers on each bolt: those are just the nordic lock washers I was talking about. Absolutely the best thing to fight vibration. F-ing amazing at it.

However normal expansion and contraction from heat and cold- idk if they would work or not. I would not see how if a gap is generated by thermal and from collapsing gasketing they would hold.

If you were to use your normal header bolts drill and safety wire with the nordic locks, or nordic locks with stage 8, that could be approved by NASA for a Mars trip. Kinda nothing else that could be done with fasteners.

Only gasket failure itself, warped header face, or uneven head surface left to fail.

Which brings me to Mr. Scary Thought. Put a straight edge on the head face.

Thought about a Motorhome on the last outing and then read this. I'll stick to the 5er. My pickups give me enough trouble as it is. :p

Seriously I would hunt for anything else close to the exhaust and make sure it's wrapped with header wrap.

Well, it's a waiting game now. I'm waiting the hear from Peninsular on my header repair and I'm waiting to hear from 3 different sources about 10mm-1.5mm pitch X 30mm length locking header bolts.

I don't think the wire ties will be an option.

If the gaskets are crushing the bolts may not have to turn to get loose.

I'm still waiting on Peninsular, but I did get the Remflex gaskets. I set a Felpro gasket next to it for comparison.

Yeah and making a little gravy on a batch run. Don't know what their process is like but usually the cost to make an extra amount is just a little over material cost after a program is set up and run. Probably have a min run to use up the material they cut from?
