Found a k3500 ecdrw

Oh man I am so glad it didn't bust on you. I was feeling bad about cheering on the Chevy purchase. Well, not really bad, I'd rather have a blown up 6.5 K3500 dually than a Ford stoopid-duty. Hang in there, she'll come around!

And you are lucky you didn't have a fire. I've caught tranny fluid on fire before. More than once actually. I've had some real bad luck with trucks catching on fire actually. Way too many times...

Fire=good thing
Truck insured for more than I paid for it...:D
I did think of that though and I usually keep fire extinguishers in everything. I have not had a chance to install one yet but I will tommorow.

:drama:

I can't handle the roller coaster ride anymore Kenny!

Your one possessed f'd up dude! I'm moving!

How were the temps? Did you get any feeling for it?

Hard to tell. This of course happended right BEFORE the 67 hill on I84 but up to that point truck was fine. It towed quite well. Still got a slight shimmy though that is bothering the crap outta me. I'm gonna order a Rancho Stabilizer for it.

Here's some pics of the starter bracket mod and the tranny lines. I removed the burned up rubber hose and used quality steel tubing(not thin crap, this came from Parker Store) and good steel compression fittings. I will replaced the other one Monday when I can get more fittings and tubing. The stuff I used was leftover from the fuel line repairs on the Burb. I was lucky to have it in stock.

Hey BTW Do the starter bolts have washers factory ? ONe of mine does. I'm going to change them both as PM but the new ons I got didn't come with any.

Well, I swapped the spare tire on and it didn't make any difference. I put the rear up on jack stands and ran the truck to 70mph. Felt slight vibration but not the same as when driving. It still feels more like a bad tire/tires. I don't know WTF to do. :suicide:
I may pull the driveshaft and have it checked. That is the only other thing I can think of causing vibration from 55+ funny thing I noticed, they are scarifing the highway for repave and when I hit the milled part the vibration "seemed" to go away. The only thing I cn do is blow 250$ having the old tires remounted and the back again...How much out of round should the driveshaft be if I were to put a dial indicator on it ? Also The hanger bearing rubber has no cracks. I can move the driveshaft around a little in it but none of the rubber is broken and the bearing feels fine. Wha am I missing ?

Well while trying to find a vibration I found a rotted return line leaking and about to blow. Of course I could have patched it but it looks ugly so I dropped the tank. I ordered a new sending unit/pikup assbly from Advance for 78$. I am in disbelief that they could get it. I am going to the Parker store to get the fittings to change the fuel line over to Push Lok. Frame looks pretty ugly too. No rot but plenty rusty. I'd be a hack if I don't run the descaler over it and hit it up with some PAR 15 chassis paint so I gues no camping this weekend, just nasty descaling. I want to reroute the hack job PO did with the brake line as well.

Rust there and rust here are two different animals. I'm glad we don't have your rust problems.

No. I'm not close to the sea. They pound the roads with salt in the winter. I religously run my trucks through the car wash after every storm but this guy obvously did not.
