Ether; use it or not, some say yea, some say nay.

Walt is ok for oddball stuff like the filter screens or things other's don't have but that's it. Customer service over there is a big zero. I usually only buy from him if no one lese has it.

Nope. Why? Another part of the SSD story?

I have a SSD sticker on my truck. It's coming off. I can't e-mail him and complain. When I complained about my injectors, he blocked my IP address.

What is WAP?

I'm going to my parts store tomorrow and just going to get the same ones I put in my 93. Those have worked fine so far, so that's what I will use. Need this truck running soon.

Thanks for the suggestion to check the plugs. I don't think I would have bothered otherwise.

That is messed up he blocked your IP address. Whar kind of buisness practice is that? If someone did that to me I would show up at their door and we would have a fist to cuff talk!

Okay, Gentlemen, let it go.

You can really only get revenge by buying from people you trust, and telling people about it. Ignore the other guys.

We don't need a whole thread to bash Walt... he's done enough on his own to keep us from sending him our $$.

Sounds good. And like I said, I am grateful for the suggestion. I would not have touched them otherwise. Can't wait until tomorrow now. Get this beast running again. With all the bloody money that has been injected into it, it should go for another 10 years without a hiccup. ):h

Should, but wont :) Always be a small thing here or there, just enough to keep your addiction to the forum's going... I got such a streak going a few years ago, I forgot all my passwords and stuff to the forums... Now I've been fully addicted since, but that keeps me constantly fixing and maintaining my 6.5 with enthusiasm.

:iagree:
Exactly. When Dad and I first got into diesels 3 years ago, the first problems with his 95 were nightmares. he put a lot of money into his truck on someones say so, and still had problems. Now, he is back to a gasser and won't touch a diesel again. I found a different forum shortly after buying my 93, and that is what kept me going. That forum and this place have the people with the info to keep our trucks viable as work vehicles, or otherwise. I think I would have sold the 93 when I dropped a lifter if I had not had access to the info I got.

Of course, now I love my 93 and don't plan to ever sell it. If I don't crash it, I want to take it over a million. ):h

I had forgotten that, yes found some Autolites 1110 iirc which near as I can tell are/were same as 11Gs, (no confirmation to that from Autolite but in crossover book ACD 11gs same as 1110 AL's) which don't swell when they go bad but are not all that great with extended glowing, so I retired them for 60Gs.

I have autolite quick heat self regulating, and couldnt tell you if they work real well since its never too cold. Got them at NAPA because when I went in uniform they gave me THE military discount, buying parts for all those HMMWVs. Everything was like 40% off. Funny thing is that the Glos had NASCAR performance written on the box, thats amusing. Truck always starts up in an instant when cold though.

I pulled a Swollen 11G out from my blazer. It was swollen right in the middle. sure it came out easier than the swollen 9G that just about broke in 1/2 and fought me the entire way, but swollen is swollen. Honestly i couldn't believe it and it left me scratching my head.

I wouldn't doubt if that truck was given starting fluid w/ hot GPs at some point and that's what did it. It hasn't had good care at all. All sorts of mismatched GPs, some dead some swollen. i pulled 11Gs, 9Gs and one champion glowplug from that truck.

As for buying things from SSD, I'll leave that one alone. I"ll get myself in trouble.

I bought my duraterms from my job(pepboys :puke:) for ~$10 a plug but i had employee discount(20%) as well. i checked and most stores have 4 or 5 in stock for $9.99 or so.

I bought some Duraterms for mine while having a cold start problem. Didn't fix my problem but made a noticeable improvement. My old ones were AC 60g's.

I just found a parts website that has them for 9.95 a piece and 6.95 for ground shipping... Ive learned my lesson, everytime i buy a car im going to see if there is a forum for it. Sucks that i bought a lot of stuff and wasted money before i found these forums on stuff that didnt look questionable at first, but now does.....
