Dyno results and discussion

well I figured that if we had at least 50% of the contributors agreeing on who would get nominated that it would be fair enough. If anyone disagrees now is the time to speak up.

In a democracy it's 50% + 1 unless you have a dictatorship in which case it doesn't matter what anyone says unless you are the top dude. Problem with the latter is donations would dry up. Maybe everyone should post whom they want their donation to go to. If you have 3 or 4 or more suggestions from all eligible voters, then vote on each and eliminate one person with each successive vote. I think they call that a runoff.

I'd really rather keep this simple if you donate money you can nominate or vote for a nomination. the only ? I have is the 50% +1 acceptable? I believe that after WW runs the fund will be empty so then the process will start all over.

AK, You can refund him if he's done playing. PM me and I'll match the money he contributed without disclosure to the amount.

No need to refund anything, I gave willingly and wish to keep it there. I would like to see a DB2 run, it doesn't matter who to me, I am all for finding the best mods to the motor...... I am no where as close to making a pass as most others are and don't think my build will be anything to compare to with some of the mods that others have done...... I will go with the majority if it helps things.....

We all have been contributing $10-20 each..... we all got to step back here and get a grip. This is supposed to be fun first and foremost. We do not want to see anyone leave, or anyone contributing for any reason other than to see as many of our trucks dyno as possible. This concept still has the potential to allow us, for a small outlay of cash, each month see another truck pass on the rollers. After the first truck passed on the dyno, we felt it was necessary to re-up to have a vote again (mostly just to see another...LOL). Let us all try really hard to not complicate this needlessly. If it seems that there is too much controversy between two rigs, we can always split the cash between them. As before we still would like to see WW pull, with the DB2. This does not even hint at it being the final truck we would like to see.....and will re-up again when next result is posted. Be good, be glad......jim&jeff.

I am in the middle of the 6.5 TD vs Cummins 12v debate...internal of course. Would like to keep it all GM if possible. I am mainly after dependability, reliability, fuel mileage and if it happens to have a legitimate 250 rwhp so much the better. I am still sorting what I consider to be some issues. With the 6.5, clearance with the AC box, the 6.5 exhaust manifolds is top of the list. With the Cummins neither of those two actual come into play. Then the price. To get an Optimizer engine from Ted's Trucks is $2,500. No turbo, not IP, no manifolds. I can get a complete Cummins for $1,300. Then if to make the 6.5 fit I need to buy an aftermarket AC system that's another $,1300. Thoughts for a quiet Sunday afternoon.

Tell me how to sending money for the dyno fund. Irrespective of whether I put in a 6.5 or a Cummins I would like to see what results you can come up with.

Wish i had some cash right now to put in. Ive been trying to dyno my truck since i built it, but not many places local have the machine capable of venting diesel smoke (as most here are indoors due to yearly climate). Hopefully this summer i can add the holset and intercooler to my build then dyno it.

Finally have the fuel system on the burb fixed. I can dyno it now. I can also 'finally' run it and see how it does vs. the ATT for feel etc. As I have a 6.2 with heads it is unique and still isn't a 6.5 just from the heads.

Later I will swap turbo, HX40II, over to patch, the 1993, and see what it does.

Also debating on turning up the fuel on Patch going over 1000 EGT and see what it is really worth. (The same fuel settings had higher EGT's with the GM3.)

I stand down for being able to dyno my trucks at this time. I simply don't have enough hours in the day to even think about getting to a dyno.

I finished re-doing the AC on the burb then replaced a lot of the worn out front end. During this process I changed out the steering box and to be safe the pump and hoses. The new reman pump blew the front seal on the alignment rack.

Come to find out it is stiff to turn and put metal throughout the system. :suicide: Parts store is covering the booster, box, pump, fan belt... I did get the pump with the built in filter - doesn't help when the pump eats it. It ran long enough after fixing the AC to chew up a rotor that was fixed as part of the front end work.

The 1993 has wiped out the IP and is waiting for time to get in the garage to swap that out. :mad2:

So if someone else wants to go don't let me hold them up.

Hopefully, just standing down for now....still would like to see one of your trucks pass on the rollers......sooooo.....

who's next? do we still have cash in the fund? do we need to donate again?who wants to dyno?.......:sifone:
