For 1992-1995.
Sorry pics arent that good.
Well I finally got a couple prototype alt brackets done. It is extreamly ridgid with this mount. I designed it to use the factory strap bracket The one on back of tensioner to the alt. Also I will have another support bracket that go's from intake to the back of alt.

Strap bracket. I'll have to get a better pic of the additional intake to alt support.
The window is so you can see the belt tension range thingy. The extra hole on rear of bracket is to bolt the fuel drain valve to.

I dont have a firm price on them yet. Made from billet aluminium

Anyone interested?

It looks nice Leroy, as of now I have no plans on changing alts. I can see a market for this with the people who don't fab.

Thanks Leo, You would not believe the hours that went into it. Its mostly programed into the CNC now though.
Few minor tweeks and it will be done.:agreed:

The back of the alternator mount is the one I am interested in. I hope you sell the parts separately.

I was going to contact you anyway (you got ESP?:eek6:)
I'd like to send you one as a test pig. If anyone can break it your the man. It'll be a good test. It might be a couple weeks before I can let go of it though.
LMK if you want to test out a prototype.
All I ask is a short write up/post on it.

Me too!

I have been running the updated alternator for over a year with out it. Would be nice if I had the time to make one. I still have the old alternator in my garage.

Dunno about this setup. Seems to depend on having the single-thermostat water crossover, which I admit should be on a factory truck, but for me who's basically abandoned the single stats for the Dual and HO pump this won't work. Need something which more closely resembles the stamped steel bracket that comes on the CS130 that bolts to the intake. Been thinking about this mod, but think I'll opt for a modified 130 before going 144.

J

Factory dual stats had a different alt and belt setup anyway. It isn't necessary to use dual t-stats.
I am happy with the performance and reliability of the CS-144 over the CS-130. So far I haven't smoked one CS-144 off, and my voltages are better. I am using the 124 amp versions as they are easier to get aka in stock...

Bout damn time I can quit swapping alternators out so often! See my threads about smoking rear bearing failure, a fan hitting the case from who knows what failed, multiple internal failures... CS-130's are overheated junk.

The CS 144 is what we use stock although different mounting on the other side on the engine. I think there must have been a bad batch of them as a few guys we going through them pretty quick. Ive had mine since birth and its still kicking out the juice.

I need one, My 4th autozone reman is going but I am tired of replacing them due to a 500w amp w/ 2 10" subs and a 200w component amp. Seems to chew through alts and batts as well as make the lights awful dim.

Couple slightly off topic questions. Where is the best place to get these alts as well as the part # to refference. Does it take OEM belt length?

Let Joshua try it, he can break anything! LOL!

I removed the vac pump and added the CS144. So I kept the stock 1995 belt length. I am too lazy to look up the length difference between 1993 no vac pump and 1995 w/ vac pump. Yeah, you should go with a longer belt.

Powermaster CS-144 alternators come to mind available in 144 AMP and uprated 200 AMP. Not at AZ for sure!!! I had a local shop sell me one, but, their starters sucked. The other one is an Autolight reman - good luck finding that brand around. Keep your diesel pulley!

I never had a diesel pulley and I dont have a vac pump. I guess the score is 1:1, semi screwed for never having a diesel pulley and then good deal for the vac delete. It died a month ago and I stuck a banks tur(d)bo on. Honestly its ok but I get the feeling it would need some help against the ATT.

Ive been wanting to do this, had a CS-144 i picked up from the junkyard. Then found out i need to totally re-design my Fisher MM hydraulic pump brackets that hold the pump to the alternator and power steering pump. Looks like my only option without major bracket fabbing is an upgraded 130..

I looked up a 96 truck, I think it was also Ferm that said they were optional on 96 -2000 GMT400'
The DLG is a brand new unit made by a/c delco according the the parts guy. I only buy those when I buy from AZ and have had good life out of them. Except for one.
I believe Im running the stock belt. Anyone remember what stock is? I'll look at mine and report back later.
