Corvairwild's No start

3500GMC... I am having my 'puter seriously tuned up, so in a day or 3 I will have a fresh new moviemaker program, and go back to catching up on my vids...

Chrisa1995... I had a great time, but even tho Mrs thinks I was on vacation, driving 7,000 miles in 3 weeks is work, different hotel every nite...

Pix from 3 years ago. Phoenix to Palm Springs to New Orleans and home... Riverwalk In San Antonio. That Sub's engine blew 20 miles after getting home... 4400 miles without a prob, then an oil line clip breaks, and Mrs keeps pushing the go pedal

14 States, about 7 days driving, 5900 miles. Enjoy the picture "Video" while waiting for your upgrade. Warning, very much a beginner level production.

I remember the clip deal that you commented on in one of your vids.. Sucked indeed.. And that old truck stop is an awesome photo op..

Good luck with the computer upgrade.

What knaws away at me is what if I hadn't met Buddy. Who woulda fixed my rig? Anyone coulda said "change the IP"... "Change the computer", but the tag or timing disc (In the IP) was wrong. I hate throwing parts at something. It's bad enuff I wasted 5 hours in San Diego at the 1st diesel "tech"...

Many years ago, I was an ASE gas/steering/suspension tech, but I changed jobs as FI came into play, and I knew maybe 1% of how FI works, and maybe 1/2% of how an electronic diesel worked. I sure learned alot in one day at Buddys!

Thoughts on computer injected wannabes???

PS, some junkyard pix from Capulin Colorado last week

Love the video Paul!! I especially liked the music you used. I'm very partial to a good guitar background. I find it very relaxing.

I agree!! The third pic has several that I'm familiar with.

Right up front, the Chevy truck, is the first kind of truck I drove. I was working for my uncle on his farm and he had one of these early 50's Chevy trucks. It may have been just a badly worn out shift linkage, but that thing was a bear to shift.

In the left background, behind the truck, is a mid/late 50's GM pickup cab. My first pickup was a 58 GMC fleet model. The fleet model had fenders that were made for dual headlights, but had a filler plate there with only singles in place. My pickup had been lightly rolled and the pass side fender was mangled. I couldn't find a replacement fender to match and I didn't want to buy a complete front clip, so I just banged it out. Rough, but it was just a toy for me, so I didn't care. I really enjoyed that pickup.

To the right of the truck is what looks to me like a 55 Chevy Bel Aire. Between the truck and the weeds blocking enough of the view it's not a definite identification. Anyway, it looks to be in very good condition for the age. My first car was a 57 Chevy Bel Aire 2 door sedan with the I-6 and three on the tree.

By the way, CORVAIRWILD, your forum name has intrigued me right from the very start. My second car was a 64 Corvair. One of my lifelong dreams has been to someday find a 65 to 69 Corvair in good condition. I always wanted to do a mid-ship mount SBC in one. However, my most recent wondering has been if something like the front drive Buick 3.1 or 3.8 could easily be adapted. If so that would be a vehicle that had some real get-up-n-go, and still give some good MPG if driven sanely.

I do know where a 65-69 Corvair Corsa that needs restoration is setting, but he won't sell. I would like to see something like that restored to full stock condition.
