Brought Home my Dually Today

Ive never seen the a/c delete before. Gets me to thinking, you could put a hydrualic pump in that spot or it gives you the possiblity to run 3 alt's.

All the room in the world over there....

Now you know why I like not having A/C so much.

So I picked up a reciever hitch today off CL $40 for a class V. My only ? is I thought that class V hitches all had a 2 1/2" recievers? Definetly beefier than my class III though.

just a standard reciever. the hole for the reciever is 2" not the ball I can use whatever size ball I want.

So if 2" is normal what class are the 2 1/2" recievers?

i never saw them untill my old boss bought a 08 duramax. and it was a PITA beacouse all we had in the shop where 2" and he was always loosing the adapter

Well I went to move my dually today getting, ready for winter, thought I'd see if it would run. Put in the 2 fresh batts from my plow truck and started checking things out. No fuel out of of the drain. So I crawled under the truck and found that someone had wired in a non stock lift pump sort of. The hot wire was not connected so I twisted the wires together. Still nothing so I started checking fuses. The ECM fuse under the hood was blown. So I Put a fuse in. Still nothing so I ran a hot wire to the pump and success or so I thought. Fuel out of drain t fired it up runs really good. No blowby!! I'm starting to think it's a fairly fresh engine. Now the bad, it keeps blowing that ECM fuse. Anybody have a wiring diagram for that so I can chase down the short?

I have a set of manuals for a 97, so far they've lined up well with my 96. Which diagram specifically do you need? I'll take a look at them tonight when I get home from work and then scan and post.

not sure it is the fuse in the underhood power center which as you stand facing the front of the truck is the back left. a small 20a fuse. there are 2 fuses labeled ecm tho. when it blow my glows won't work and the ip quits working not sure what else.

I hope these scans help. The issue you describe of one of the ECM fuses blowing and knocking out the glow plugs doesn't seem to make sense when looking at the diagrams, at least to me but then, I'm NOT an expert. The Glow plug circuit doesn't seem to go through the ECM fuse except for a shared pin on the PCM at "D7". The LP and Glow Circuits do not appear to share a common ground or splice. I'm willing to bet the PO has re-wired more than the LP and that there is a short under or near the fuse block as that is a common area.
Perhaps Buddy or another electrical type can chime in.
