The guy whose wind generator I helped put up is the guy I got the dually from. He also has a slideback for his towing biz. So he let me use it to bring it home today. I thought he told me it was a 95 but when I look at it I'm not so sure there is a 96 owners manual in the jockey box. Couldn't find any data tags on the doors. Is there an easy way to identify it when I pop the hood? What year did they change sides with the accys? It is supposed to run the guy said he drove it where it was parked. I think I'm going to make this my towing rig. I'll get some pics tommorrow.

96 is when the accessory brackets changed to passenger side alternater.

Congrats on gettin a fat bottom girl!!!!!!

Accy brackets also depend on what the truck was from the factory. I am sure we are dealing with a pickup here, but both my cab chassis's have different setups than P/U's.

DO you have The large single door for ashtray and lighter plugs, or separate doors for each. 95 had 1 larger door that covered everything.

Well I'm pretty sure it is a 96. Scored a few tools while I was going thru it. Best find was a complete Lisle torx scoket set about 10-12 pieces. Also another good find was the airbags. It had a flatbed on it which is supposed to be there somewhere under the snow and even if I don't want the flatbed I need to go find it. I'm hoping the air comp for the airbags is mounted to it. The reason it is all apart is it was stolen and when it was towed it was stuck in the mud really bad and all that stuff got ripped off trying to pull it out. I don't think it was attached very well. Also notice the orange valve covers which means it might have a somewhat low mileage engine in it. So far $s invested 0

It's at least a 96 if not newer engine,or at least the accessory drive. Flat panel air filter is early 96 or older. Looks like you may need to take a pressure washer to the interior. Nice price!:thumbsup:

Nice truck!!

Just do what my friend does on cars he flips, remove the interior, wash the carpet really well, let it dry, clean the floor up really well, and put it all back together. All the cars he flips look almost new on the inside. It's amazing.

'95 is OBDI and '96 is OBDII. Look at the data link connector. The dash also looks like a '95 on he passenger side. '96's and up had a cubby hole instead of drink holders.

What's the black box on the driver's side of the intake manifold?
If you were closer:mad2: I could fix you up with a good seat:thumbsup:

my 96 has no cubby and has the drink holders, as does my boss' K1500 Vortec. IIRC, it was 97 that started that.

ak diesel driver, have you figured out what year she is?

congrats on the purchase!

My 96DD has drink holders I'll have to check out the data kink connector.

The black box is the pmd the PO has mounted on a piece of metal. If I was closer I'd take you up on that seat.
