I always wanted to plow with a cabover. Couple landscrapers around here have Mitsubishi Fuso dumps with 4wd and big plows. It must be awesome to look down on the plow like that. I can't even see my plow. Not a big Mitsu fan, but Isuzus are OK, I've actually worked in some Hinos (Toyota owned and built) and they were awesome trucks. No 4wd that I know of though.
Not to mention cabovers handle like shit in bad weather. No thanks. I had a French made Mack Midliner. I hated it. worst POS I ever owned and it drove and rode like dog balls. Only thing good was any idiot could drive it but it was horrible in bad weather.
Oil trucks or any other kind of local delievery/work truck (as opposed to over-the-road) there is just too much shifting. All you do is pedal all day long. Wears you out, bad for the legs (especially if you use the clutch) and hard on the shoulders. I had muscle problems in my shoulder blades from shifting, actually had to start doing special exercises to keep the sholder blade muscles from hurting.
Automatics are the way to go for most circumstances, now that they've finally made them durable enough for heavy duty. Even a lot of the over-the-road stuff is auto now, seen those cool paddle shifters on the wheel?
