cuase when i put the pedal all the way down when im goin 60 in down shifts into 2nd and just redlines put if i manualy down shift it into 3rd its just fine what does it sound like to you???
 
The 4L80E is electronically controlled. I know little about how they work. It could be a sol. Someone will chime in.
 
Thats just the annoying factory programming. And if you get a custom tune tell them you dont want it to kick down like that.

It wont kick down to 2nd at 60mph, if in OD it will kick down to 3rd and run real high revs until upshifts again.
 
o ok thanks i was just getting kind of worried there i didn't think that the 4l80 would be going out it was rebuilt when i did the motor but the torque converter is stock
 
PMD took a $#!% on me today i'm so pissed right now but i ordered heaths relocation kit and had it over nighted so hopfully it will be here tommorro...

At least you'll never have to worry about that again.

While you're waiting its a great time to remove / wire brush / and re-torque all your grounds.

Good grounds work well with a Healthy PMD to make a Happy 6.5Dragracer!:thumbsup:
 
yeah i thought about that earlier so i went ahead and did it...

I did it 3 years ago and have not 2nd guessed it for one second.

I did have a ground let go (braided line turbo side rear) and it caused stalling symptoms.

Need to be positive on your connections. I like to remove every fuse especially the large blocks and dremel them mirror clean too.
 
The PMD relocation is a reliability modification that will save you time, money and tons of frustration, and trumps a performance mod :thumbsup:

That $h!t happens, which is why its the first modification to make

No performance when truck wont start. How did you diagnose as PMD?
 
cuase i've just replaced the LP and when the truck dies it cranks right back up and then it just dies about a min. later...
 
And if no codes then sounds like PMD. Make sure you have fuel pressure to the IP when it is running for that minute. You can twist open the filter top, or open up the drain line and watch for fuel flow while its idling. Should have a good stream out of the drain line while it idles.
 
its in it only took me like 15 mins max it was super fast and super easy thanks Bill...

now shes got some f en power way more than she had before
