adding some things to my truck got a few ?s

got the #9 resistor in and just finished puting it on my truck tonite im going to put the intake back on tommorro and crank it up i hope it works good...

nope not yet thats the next thing on my list well i now got the #9 resistor on and the TM from heaths on and she runs great thanks for all the input guys i'll post more as i get more money...

If you get a reflashed computer from Heath, Kennedy, Westers or Walking J then you wont need a boost fooler. Your next mod should be remote mounted PMD. No sense in trying to fast if it wont go at all. The boost fooler is cheap, computer reflash is $350-$500. The computer will be a lot more power.

ok so what your tellin me is that i should do the remote mount PMD and then do the computer cuz the boost fooler wont give me that much power...

Correct. It wont give you ANY power. It will just allow more boost, but in order to make POWER you need to add FUEL to that newly added boost.

Get the Reflash.

I'm going to get the KOJO tune from Walking J. Great price, great tune from what I've gathered.

Well, added boost will add power when trying to climb hills and you defuel. So it doesnt add power, but it allows you to keep at sustained higher power levels in the stock program. So the boost fooler is a great thing if you dont have the aftermaket PCM program. So if its going to be several months, getting a $10 potentiometer from Radio Shack could make it run a lot better on hard acceleraiton to high RPMs, or under load.

The PMD relocation is a reliability modification that will save you time, money and tons of frustration, and trumps a performance mod

:iagree: 100%

ok so what if i do the boost fooler could i leave it on after i do the pcm or would i need to take it off???

and the pdm relocation is my next thing on my list...

You can leave the boost fooler on, but it usually is not necessary. Depends on how the tuner does the program. You can disable to code, change the boost curve to make it more like one would really want, or alter the parameters by which the code is set. Or all of the above. So boost fooler becomes unnecessary with PCM usually. Boost fooler is just a variable resistor, so you can leave it on and just set it to 0 resistance when you get the reflashed PCM.

ok now what about an intercooler i've heard about people putting them on the 6.5s but is it worth it???

i mean i drive my truck all day every day so would i benifit out of this or do i need to not even waist my money on it???

and if you put an intercooler on can't you run my boost and still keep the engine in the safe zone...lol

You do not have to fool a PCM that allows you to run more boost. The only purpose of the boost fooler is to get more boost out of the stock vacuum system or allow you to run more boost on a manual wastegate actuator like the turbomaster. Most aftermarket tunes will allow this with no fooler. Do you understand that it is no benefit unless you arent getting enough boost from the vacuum wastegate acuator or the PCM is coding and defueling. The beauty of a well programmed PCM is that you dont have to fool it at all in any way.

intercooler is helpful, if you can put it together for cheap, a few hundred bucks then would be good investment. It doesnt help run more boost, but it can help make the boost you have more dense and work better. There are kits for over a thousand dollars, and I would purchase a larger turbo before that.
