A Team Turbo

Less heat means lower IAT. Lower IAT means lower EGT. Lower EGT means Happier motor. Total winner in my book.

I want one now too :D

If it moves more air at a lower pressure then there would be less heat, pressure=heat. Sounds like this turbo is a winner.

IMO it is THE turbo that GM should have put on it.

On 2nd thought GM-X turbo is sufficient if operating at power levels GM intended, ATT allows more power from the engine with proper fueling and not overstressing the block.

I'll quote this from folks at RBR racing http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/turbotech.html & Gale Banks http://www.bankspower.com/techarticles:

It's all about airflow whether it is expressed in cubic feet per minute (cfm) or pounds per minute (lb/min). In any case it takes about 150 cfm per 100hp....so for 300 horsepower you need a turbo that puts out about 450cfm. The real question is what pressure ratio or boost in psi is this airflow possible with your engine. You need to start thinking airflow and not "boost".

Since it boosts more w/ less, you should be able to turn up the turbo to the maximum allowed by the pcm without coding. Thus getting the equivalency of 10 lbs (on the gm-x) for the price of 5 lbs (on the ATT). Is this not correct Tim?

Nothing to turn up or down Rodd, ATT boost is strictly a function of exhaust flow/fuel no waste gate to be opened or closed, as you can see from my data chart 10 psi with ATT is a LOT of power, I doubt you'll spend much time in the 10 psi reigon, what I'm not sure though is when factory curves think engine is overboosting, I know with GM-8 turbo factory always tried to regulate boost to about 3 psi by opening WG, so a slight possibility a fixed or var resistor may need to be applied to the MAP output to keep from coding but we are talking <$10 or so if that is required.

I still am trying to find the "A Team Turbo" E-Commerce site!!!! I am hoping to be able to buy the A-Team with associated Heath - A-Team chip (next spring)...:D

No seriously, Slim needs a website...:toetap05:

Keep up the great work guys!

Hey guys no web site because we are a small company. All things cost money such as a web site, so to keep costs down the turbos will only be available here for the time being.

This site and the people here have been the supporting group, so, they (turbo) will only be sold here.

We have become a vendor here, so we can dicuss cost and other related sales things. Going slow so things don;t get messed up. My time on the site will be scetchy until after the holiday, enjoying some family time in the south. Got to love no snow!

I / We would like to know how many people might be interested, I would like to know if I should buy more turbos to fabricate. The lead time is about a month or more to get the order ready to shipp to the states, then our fabrication time. Let me know what you guys think.

Improved mpg

I Just got back from a trip to the Inlaws, In summer with a full tank I consistently would get 200 km's (125 mi.) before the gauge would hit the full mark. In winter it would be 160 km (100 mi.) to 180 km (113 mi.). The previous best in summer was 240 km (151 mi.). On this trip I matched my best summer mileage  Now I know this isn't very scientific but It's a move in the right direction. I'm happy. Leo:smile5:

Slim -

Is there a possible joint marketing venture with Heath for a chip/turbo combo (at least here on DTR)?

Also could you PM me pricing on the ATT? I am interested in the ATT and further interested in exploring ALL of the potential from this turbo. I may even switch to a DB2-5722 pump for some real "punishment" while installing the ATT.

Thanks again for all of your hard work...

Regards,

I am definitely interested. I pretty much only use my truck for towing our 9000lb. trailer. If my GM8 were to take a crap I would buy one now.

I want to be on the interested list but it is just wishfull thinking for now really. If my bank account suddenly gets a plus instead of a minus in front of the figures now that's a whole other story! ;) Though if that were the case that twin setup on heaths bonneville rig triggered some gears in the brain also..

Sounds like a great r & d project!

Should have had a truck in a barn that was an ongoing R&D project... *dreaming* Most of my ideas are probably head in the clouds over complicated though, this ATT seems more like a more sensible both feet on the ground no bullshit approach! Both ways have its appeal in different (but similar) ways!

I hope I can take a leaf or two out of Tim's (TD`s) book, if your going to change something do a minimum of two, so Bills Turbo fits the point,,,hey,,hey ,, wait plus there would be two of us living in Norway that can burn up the Viking tarmac..yo.. cool..I'II be happy..:D

Wishing you a happy, healthy and prosperous new year!..:smile5:

Would be nice to have a bit more viking grunt in the uncle sam truck so the tires wear out before the rubber gets too old and dries out yes. Just as a safety measure to keep the tires fresh ofcourse. :slomo: And having the torque to put the camper trailer pulling abilities of my dads Audi TDI to shame is always great fun. :nana: It possibly has a weight to umpf ratio advantage though.. :nonod:

Wishing you all a wonderfull and adventurous(in the good way) truckin good new year! Sorry for being a bit maybe not totally off topic but maybe slant topic here..

Here's a thought...I've got a 3 inch bodylift, I had to reroute a heater hose because the turbo is now just about touching the inner fender. Is the A-Team turbo bigger dimensionally, would it cause fitment problems with the fenderwell?

Not that I can afford one, I'm just thinking about it. Or maybe I'll get lucky and Joey D will give me his. ;>

The A-Team Turbo is slightly larger dimensionally but there should not be a problem, I would have to see a picture of your turbo setup to tell.

Do you have a GM8 ? I have long wrestled with doing a bodylift in my 3500. What did you do about the fan shroud ? What other issues did you have like tranfer case linkage etcs.....
oops:hijacked:
Sorry..:D
