chime.jpg

This is the chime. Mounts under the dash driver's side passthrough connector on right upper side. Speaker holes are to the left. usually removed to STFU over door open key in, seatbelt, engine meltdown, etc.

Any you wondered why your rig was so quiet? :D The Air filter is an oiled "engine duster" and it's soaking into your seat. Yuck! Both items can go into the trash.

The HVAC wire that melts and control head issues are dead horse beat here.

First one is an alarm or remote start or something like that. There seems to be a wire pin out printed on the box. Any of them say "starter" ?
The second one "made in Canada" looks factory, where was it plugged into? Door chime maybe??

That first box (alarm/start) he claims was plugged into the VSSB harness and you can see the dust imprint of it on the ecm top at velcro area.

I know older alarm/starter controller sometimes have in/outs marked on box and would have to have the capability to allow adjusting VSSB for gear ratio or maybe built specific for each ratio.
I'm not sure? What would an alarm/start need with VSSB signal though? Just curious.

I think one theory for his intermittent powering up of other systems may have something to do with that box IF its a remote starter. If it is and someone has all the wires "jacked up" the brain in the box maybe sending 12v out like its trying to start the engine. If the wires with the other systems are in contact with that 12v start output signal then they will power up. Just a theory anyway.

I'm a little perplexed here with that box being plugged into the vssb circuit.

O I see well I'll take better pics in a few and try to figure out brand and model to see if there was a problem with or not

Man I feel for you it can be a bitch at times with aftermarket accessories and you may have just tripped the anti-theft system in that little box.

I see what your getting at now, but I've never seen a VSSB hooked to an alarm system. Why?
I think he is just mistaken and its not actually hooked to VSSB.
Well from the image this looks to be the case see the dust imprint on ecm and tabs on black box if not then where is the vssb module I see the vssb harness.

Unless i'm mistaken the VSSB module is to left of glove box opening. Its been awhile but sure seems like it was on my 96.

That's the wire harness top and bottom of ecm and front and back of AL-100 alarm box
Ok, the 3rd pic is vssb so disregard that and the harness is for the anti-theft system and it has all the pin in/outs so you should be good to go w/repair or just remove it.
I believe your blower switch issue was addressed in depth by warwagon.
