88GMCtruck's 98 Silverado Towpig Build: "Black Fox"

How I managed to find a clean, non-impact strip diesel bumper AND a painted rear bumper is beyond me.

Whats even more amazing, they came off the same 95 Sierra c2500 6.5l truck with over 300k on it.... And was a government truck. How on earth they survived I do not know.

Had a bit of time to cleanup the bumper and coat it

Then took it a step farther and modified a licence plate bracket, installed some custom 88-89 adjusters and Bosch e-code h4 lights I had sitting around. Ignore my Montana "test" plate.

Very awesome build! I read this whole thread the other day.

You do very impressive work. I remember back when you had that grey 6.5 truck, I also read that entire build thread. Was kinda sad when you sold it lol.

What did you use to coat those bumpers? I can't wait to see some pics of those shiny wheels mounted up.

Thanks! Yeah I miss the 6.5L quite a bit at times, but the 454 is a nice truck and having the crewcab is a huge plus.

I coated the bumpers in plasti-dip. I actually like how it turns out.

The wheels will be on hopefully soon, have to get hub rings made.

Hub centering rings, 2" lift blocks/ U-bolts, and Chrome GMC center caps ordered.....

I checked my t-bars last night, and they are just about on the lowest possible position - since the truck does need an alignment I figured now was the time to crank it up a bit and toss a block in the rear.

Can you please post pics of the mounts for the headlights in the bumper and pics of the back side of bumper with lights installed?

Are those lights the high or low beam from the older quad light trucks?

Should look pretty good. Wouldn't it be better to try and re arch the rear leafs? All of my drw trucks sat 3-4" higher in the rear.
My springs aren't sagging. Re-arching in i've been told doesn't hold up as long overall, blocks don't alter the springs in any way and will give me the height I'm looking for.

Once I get more work done on the bumper I will get some picts of the brackets.

The lights I am using are Bosch H4 headlights that GM used on German export firebirds. They aren't available anymore, I've had them in a box stored for some time. These are an actual high and low beam in one unit, much more versatile.
