88GMCtruck's 98 Silverado Towpig Build: "Black Fox"

Friend of mine does bulb replacements in Bonneville radios. I should see if he'd do others, there's a few out in our 05...

It's time for an overdue update. Been busy as the weather has gotten nicer...

Tooled around with the 88 a bit... took it out of storage and re-insured it for summer.

Little bit of a side project, a utility trailer project for a co-worker. Did bushings, checked the brakes and bearings, then installed the toolbox, Re-wired the entire trailer with LED lights, winch and quick connect, LED backup and floor lights, and a LED strobe setup for the clearance lights.

Picked this up. It's a 4'8" diameter roll of shop towels....... Ended up hanging it in the rafters.

Installed some 18w 6-LED flood lights under the bumper for backup use. They are WAY bright.

Picked up some mounts and installed two 4' firestick II antennas on the fender, moved the AM/FM antenna inside the fender and installed a Cobra 75STWX CB. Pass antenna is just a dummy to keep things symetrical. Then went camping at the dunes.

My dad had a roll he got in 1996. He just ran out recently (18 years!) and picked up another, and there was a second roll that I picked up. Will probably never find another one.

Devin moved his stuff from Ellensburg to a storage unit near my house in Auburn. He's currently at his Father's in Dayton and looking for a job and then a place to live.

Made the truck more black. Also, made all 4 windows auto-down.

I accidentally quadded myself.....

Now i'm looking at campers.... Waiting for a guy to get back to me on one today.

Every powersport is such a great disease to have, although an expensive one...

I know I said I didn't like bed mount camper tie-downs... and yet I installed a set

Welp, it happened. I ended up picking this 95 Alpenlite Silverton 11' camper. I originally wanted a 9'-9.5' camper, but after looking at them, there just wasn't enough storage space or general space inside. I looked at this and although it's heavy (3,200LBS with liquids) it has so many more features and space that it's worth it. Riding quads all day will be much nicer coming back to this to recoup.

It has a few problems - the roof will need replaced soon - for now it will get re-coated. There is some soft paneling near the dinette/couch, which will be repaired. I'm not worried about any of that with this camper - I specifically sought out an Alpenlite or Western Wilderness (same manufacturer) for their use of a fiberglass from cap and siding, one-piece rubber roof, aluminum framing and rigid foam insulation. The paneling and floor can rot and be replaced, but the structure and exterior are so much more solid than any wood framed camper.

It's loaded with everything but a TV and generator. Has a large fridge, microwave, AC, electronic ignition everything, CD player, rockford fosgate speakers.... And it has plenty of lighting (which will become LED soon). Plus is has heated holding tanks for winter use.

I ordered a set of torklift frame mount camper tie-downs, a 17k superhitch, and 48" extension.

Nice looking camper! I need to get mine done. :mad2:

You will love the torklift!

I'm glad they make something like it, otherwise I wouldn't want to tow much.

After rebuilding my trailer, and watching your camper rebuild..... I was set on finding an aluminum framed camper. They just seem to have so many less problems even if water gets in them.

I agree 500%+, wood and campers should never be in the same sentence, ever!

When ever I decide to part with this camper, it will be my last wood camper. I want an aluminum camper, one day.

That camper looks nice, hope you enjoy it more than I have mine.
