2008 R-Vision Super Sport 26BHS

I've been on the phone and sat with many RV dealers over the last few months...if an item is standard equipment you simply don't add it in...they don't add it in when they are selling the used units down here either...they only add the optional equipment...it came with a 13.5k btu A/c and it has a 15k...then you check off the 15k and it will add what the difference was between the two...now seeing as we are in two different areas using two different modes of operation I can see where we are at...but down here if I chose to add in everything I would be double dipping on the resale of mine or the dealer would be screwing me over on the purchase...shoot my very old prowler would be worth $1500 if I added in everything that was standard...when in reality it is really only worth about $700($800 with the optional A/C) using true book... I doubt anyone would pay over $500 for it even if it was "cherry"

We're good:)...and the term "you'd" didn't imply you personally as being dishonest...just using the basis of how it's being calculated here(shown to me by the salesman) and if someone/anyone knowingly tried to double up on the value of some things here what that would imply...

Thanks, And yes we're good. I 'm sensitive about my character and cherish it, because I was raised to respect others and always be honest.

I just went through all this crap with the dealer and the ins. company and neither came up with the same value and both were trying to weasel the #s in their favor.

Do me a favor and look up a used value on any camper on nada and do it your way and then do it my way. Pull one up on CL or in the paper and compare witch is closer to the advertised price. [On one with no damage in good to excellent cond.].

The moral of this story is the only one that looks out for you is YOU and [friends and family if you're so blessed].

Nothing but love Pepp.

I'd love to do it for you...first thing I need to know though was what features the mfr.considered standard for that model...thats the really tough part:( the trailers I've researched like that new R-vision link I provided similar to Kenny's purchase shows what features were standard/included in the base price of the camper...

I just looked at a nice 5'er today that books for $21k with standard features and a few options(the way I book them and was shown to)...but this dealer only wants want 14k for it...it needs some detail work, is missing the awning (and needs the removal of a honey bee hive inside the kingpin housing under the fiberglass panel...not sure I want to tackle that)...another camper dealer had that exact same style unit almost the same options...and sold it a few weeks ago for $21k

let me know what you have and I'll be glad to give it a shot...tough part will be finding out what was standard but I might be able to get that info out of a few contacts I've made...

If you guys want my perosnal OP I think NADA sucks period. It was of no help. I just looked for other ones for sale and made my own judgement. However I think part of the problem I am having is possibly the salesman is telling me the camper is an 07 which I can find no Super Sport '07s but I can find an 08 no problem. SOooooo...Being that I didn't check myself maybe the guy doesn't realize it's actually an 08 or maybe it got titled as an 07 somehow as an early production but should have been an '08. Nada does not do a good job with these camper IMHO. This whole no listing thing is now causing other issues cause the bank can't look it up either and they are not willing to give me a loan to buy it. I applied for a loan today through Goodsam...fingers are crossed. we really like the layout. Not an inch of space wasted.

Also as far as who's right and wrong with Rob and Pepp. I think you both are right and wrong. I am seeing that today. When I look it up though NADA, Rob is right with adding everything. When I look it up though goodsam which claims they use NADA if I add everything it comes out way too high so I think it's just f'ed up.

That was my point. To use nada you have to put it in there or it will give you the value of a shell. That's why there is like 5 awning sizes but only one is applicable.

Nada only prices the shell and you add everything it has whether standard or not to get the realistic value.

I told you I don't agree with it and yes it sucks.

The camper dealers use their own publication to find the value. They only use Nada when someone like us comes in with our printout saying we know what it's worth and then try to beat them up on the price.

This was off the NADA FAQ's but even if I do it Pepps way with no options added it still nbooked at 11,550. I think I am doing ok at 12k for it.

Obtaining an accurate FREE value is very easy. Simply go to www.NADAguides.com and follow these steps: First, select the industry tab from which you are interested in obtaining a value, i.e. Automobiles, Boats, etc. For Automobiles: (1) Select the Category the vehicle you are valuing falls under (i.e. Passenger Cars, SUVs, Pickup Trucks, etc.) (2) Select the Make. (3) Select the Model Year. (4) Select your Model and click on the appropriate Trim. Check the appropriate options and enter mileage (if applicable) and then click "Get Used Value." For Motorcycles, RVs, or Boats: (1) Select the link to the specific vehicle type you are looking for. (2) Click on the first letter of the Manufacturer for the vehicle you are valuing. (3) Click on the year of the vehicle you are valuing. (4) Click on the model of the vehicle you are valuing. (5) Check the appropriate options for this model and click "Get Used Value."

here's an informative read on nada and blue book pricing...

quote:
The bottom line here is simple. Once a RVer sees what the pricing in both professional editions of the RV appraisal guides are based on, the list price, the value of the RV when it was new, they quickly realize there is no need to add for supposed options. They are already accounted for in the basis price, the list price, and therefore included in the basic pricing.
This is why many RV dealers try to take RV trade-ins at below book wholesale

sorry...not trying to beat a dead horse...

I think you did real well Kenny...and you are happy with your purchase so that is all that really counts... :)

An '08 Fully loaded with slide in Mint shape anything has to be worth 12k. I read some bad reviews on R-Vision but any one of them will have that and they were petty complaints like screws coming loose etc. It's a tin shed on wheels. That is going to happen unless you pay twice as much for a really high end one. The applainces are all made by same companies so what esle is there ?

wow, after Bank of America(scumbags) would only loan me 8k at 16%(I told them to f off) and Goodsam club credit has been jerking me for 5 days now, One of the guys at work said go to the Credit union. I had a Loan in 6hrs flat at 3.99% . Very Happy. Now if I can only sell the old one. I really don't want to sit on it till Spring.

So, It's home. The brackets for the wieght distributing hitch don't quite fit the same as the old camper the frame rails were channeled and the new camper they are box tube. Look at the pics and see if they way I have them mounted looks ok. Also the fridge wasn't cold after about 2hrs plugged in but that is normal right ? The freezer was getting cold but IIRC you usually have to start the fridge 24hrs before using the camper right ?

Well, This thing was definitely IMO a Repo. Asshole who owned it raped it. The water pump was half ass swapped out to a non working one. Fixed that today 100$. He put the worst tires on I ever saw(that I knew when I bought it) but realized the rims were swapped too as the camper had 14 inch originally and now has 15. I put 4 new tires on today. Think it will be okay to run 15 inch ? I moved the propane tanks forward a little so the Weight bars would be straight with the chains and I beefed up the battery mounting and added an extra battery so now it has two. Also went to check the wheel bearings but the castle nut does not have a cotter pin. Can't figure out how it comes off ???
