well i got my old injection pump off yesterday, went well took an hour and a half. i am picking up a rebuilt standyne pump with all new standyne parts and a year warranty from kc diesel for 850. they were the best around price and knowledge. i hate to sound stupid but i want to make sure...

no check enigne light, went over the whole motor again, i think i will bite the bullet and get a pump, i cant get any help diagnosing it locally, no one will look at it. is there anything i should specifically look for when buying a pump?

i have had the truck 3 years but the motor i replaced about 5 months before it acted up the motor was used with 125,000 miles but ran like a top and had alot more power than the old one but did smoke more and progressivley more right before it stuck open

could the resistor in pdm cause this if it were bad

sorry ive been so long getting back. i finally got a chance to work on the truck actually had to drive it 5 miles to work on it. grounds all are good pdm swapped with known good and no change. while driving it, it seemed to calm down run about 2000 rpm but if i barely touch the accelerator...

thanks there are ablolutely no 6.5's around here and no test parts i've called all the diesel mechanics within 100 miles none of them will even work on it. im about to pull it out and stick a 12 valve cummins in it

It is on a heat sync mounted on intake. How would I go about determining ip or pdm. Could could it have anything to do with the petals position sensor?

the pdm was bought at oriley it worked fine for a couple weeks, i went back and got another new one after it messed up under warranty but did not fix the problem. i do not know what the ip is. could it be anything to do with the accelerator pedal system
