Has anybody left their block in and asked the dealer to replace the EGR? I would think they would use that as a lame excuse to not have to replace it, claiming that I made a modification that voided the warranty.
Simple green works great, but you don't need to do that every time you wash in there. I usually use some of the leftover soapy water and and older sponge to hand wash all the dust off the visible plastic parts in the engine bay.

Go with the 5'er, no question. Most units have great storage bays under the front room.
I have a short box and have done fine without a slider hitch. Just pay attention to the corner of the cab when backing up and don't jacknife it too much.
31' Wildcat Fifth Wheel, 31QBH. It has quad bunks in the back for the kids. It's really a great camper, have been happy with it. 8700lbs dry, and pulls great. I have triple-hauled with it too, towing a 4 seater sand rail on a trailer behind it.
I use it off and on. Try to put some in every few tankfulls. I swear the last time I put it in, my mileage seemed to go down about 2mpg. Anybody else had this happen?
