well i figured it out thanks war wagon just pulled the valve cover off the pass side and what do you know one of the push rods slipped out from under the rocker arm on the number 2 cylinder... rookie mistake must have not been seated in there all the way then when i cranked it the first time...
I should also mention the coolant is no longer pressurized and it is not loosing coolant. And there was an obvious blown section of gasket into cylinder # 8
Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be the culprit here?

Well now I am confused... I bought a year 2000 water pump and it has a different fan mount system. Is this the right pump... does this mean I can't put the old fan back on this one? I wasnt planning on shelling out the cash for that right now.
By LH side i assume you mean drivers side... wouldn't it be better to get both exhaust manifolds after the passenger side manifold to get a combination temp. And why cant i just drill tap and thread a sensor in, why does it have to be welded? I would think these manifolds are thick enough that...
