Sounds good, thanks for elaborating. I've long thought of killing the ports on the block and heads in that area and directing flow elsewhere. I'll look at the gaskets, but I think I like your idea of the steam port for passing the coolant to the heads as a good solution.
Originally I was...
Hey Mike, actually two pump guys were mentioned.
There is The Moose Pump guys, Conestoga Diesel
And the R&D IDI Performance guys.
I've been in contact with the R&D guys. they don't have the fueling problems we do because they're not spinning their engines as tight as we are. The fueling...
Sealed the ports in the head or the block?
By Relocated, could you elaborate on the relocated part? Relocated from where to where?
What do you mean flipped the fire rings?
Thanks!
I have no desire to doubt, I'm in the same game of finding more fuel. If they got it down, I'll give them my business too. I'm stuck at 125cc.
I've worked with R&D IDI for parts, so far that's been a fail (I got a 1300 paper weight), so I'm shooting for ideas. I don't really care to be in the...
The Key to CC is RPM.
These advertised fuel rates need to be backed up with RPM.
Otherwise I can tell you I have a DB4 on that makes 215CC of fuel, yeah, you guessed it, at just off idle then it's all downhill from there... The 215 figure is real btw, just not usable.
I for a hummer, doesn't it use the same thermostat (without the bypass spring assembly) as a 6.2L Diesel does from 82-87?
I think so.
The single thermostat that we're famailiar with on the 6.5 and GMT400 6.2's is the spring-bypass version. AC-Delco is the only option for those any more because...
Sounds like the Flex-ring is coming apart inside. This is on the governer assembly cage. You need to have the injection pump gone through and they'll install an EID assembly. Pumps back in the day when they were updated had a little metal tag on one of the three top cover bolts. The little tag...
They don't normally break. This is the first one that's broken off on me. I've done at least 30 of these.
Usually when it get's rusty in there or not sealed via thread (two of the bolts require thread sealant) or gaskets or if the bolt was over-torqued
So, after reading your post and about your misery only to experience the same bolt failure on my 1995 3500HD Rollback truck I newly acquired that's a disaster I'm straitening out.
First was two broke off bolts in the passenger's side cylinder head front that hold on the accessory bracket...
Why not a Time Sert? Google 'em they also make what they call a Big Sert (oversized outside diameter) you could repair this hole in chassis. You'd likely have to remove the fan shroud and maybe the radiator to give yourself enough room in there to work. Beats a replacement engine.
The thread...
Penn Turbo is an S2E Borg Warner unit. I've got one but took it apart to rebuild it as I got it second hand. I do want to see how it performs. It's going to be similar to an ATT as it's going to be laggy and smoke on the bottom end but have air flow up top with medium boost levels (won't really...
Remember that M1009 Blazer has 3.08 gears in the differentials and not a very low first gear in the TH400 transmission. This combination (especially if you put larger tires on it) will not seem like it has much for power.
Rebuild the 6.2L injection pump to the correct year 6.2L J series HD...
I like the wide hipped girls too, 3.42 in a 14bolt Full Floater aren't that hard to find. Yukon gear makes a set, I've bought that exact set for my 1995 suburban thinking of going from 3.73 to 3.42 (was originally 4.10) and got the 3.42 front diff to go with.
I think 3.42 is the perfect Diesel...
Dunno about this setup. Seems to depend on having the single-thermostat water crossover, which I admit should be on a factory truck, but for me who's basically abandoned the single stats for the Dual and HO pump this won't work. Need something which more closely resembles the stamped steel...
