Off the front of the injection pump is the return line, put the clear tube there. I run a glass viewer permanantly installed on the input side about a foot before the IP to check for air going in as well. Any air is bad!!
Should be no difference between Hummer and GM PMDs and should be interchangable. As i said before not sure about the 5068 pump. It could be different PMD but i don't know.
Curious to know what the running issues were??
The temp gauge on the Hummer reads a lot higher that it actualy is. I read 210 on the gauge and the OBD is 197 so a 13 degree diff. Helps me stay conservative and every know and then i check on the ODB to make sure.
Just a thought. You mentioned this started happening after shorting out a battery. You should descibe the details of that incident as in there lays a clue. I haven't read through this yet so someone probably said it already. Disconnect your battery for 5 minutes let the system null and then...
Don't they all come from DCP and get re branded?? So are you saying if you stick a white dot in, it works fine??
When its 2 in a row like that i start thinking about the poppet in the fuel solenoid being siezed up but if the white dot works i would be stumped i guess. Symtoms??
I should add i...
OK I can't find the thread on this that i know is here somewhere. I was having a discussion on another forum (HML Hummer mailing list) about the different pre chambers and applications. I need some clarification on the different precups and associated part numbers.
In the hummer world which i...
So the electronics are potted in epoxy?? I didn't see a link to the teardown pics. I will look again
Edit Found the Pics.
So would you say the electronic fails are because of scoring causing high loads on the electronics??
The CS 144 is what we use stock although different mounting on the other side on the engine. I think there must have been a bad batch of them as a few guys we going through them pretty quick. Ive had mine since birth and its still kicking out the juice.
750 miles on the new pwm/raptor setup to Ottawa and back. Awesome is all i can say. I still want to get better fitting /quality lines made up for quick connecting and now that i know it all works i think that will be the next step. It will help make a bit of wiggle room to get to the ffm. I am...
I copied this from another thread i had posted in the wrong spot LOL
I should add the Raptor and the PWM are installed and working. I only did a 30 miles road test but tonight i am taking it out on a 700 mile round trip to ottawa and back. If any bugs in the install they should present over...
I should add the Raptor and the PWM are installed and working. I only did a 30 miles road test but tonight i am taking it out on a 700 mile round trip to ottawa and back. If any bugs in the install they should present over this trip. I removed the prefilter i was using. It was clean. I still...
Capacitively the PMD unit is too small to handle the loads and the high and low sides conflict in this regard.
The voltage regulation in the PMD is about as bad a design as you could possibly make it with uncontrolled voltage spikes out of the range of the LM285 browning it out.
The Darlington...
Hey will i just read your question.
I am removing my pre filter. I had installed it in the hope of saving the stock pumps on a hunch. Didn't work as the last pump lasted less than 3k miles. The raptor has a pre screen that will get any thing big and i trust the downstream filters will do the...
I am curious to know more about the electronic failure aspects of the walboro pumps. Seems the frb and the frc both have electronics in them to some degree although i have never seen the insides of one. I would be happy to disect a broken one if i had one. Im generally pretty good at that kind...
Sorry Leroy. If i would have known, i would have bought it from you. I am just finding out now who folks are on here and i feel a bit bad for not buying my pump from a SV. Also I thank you for your support even though i did not buy the pump from you. you provided me with great info the company i...
I can't disagree with you, still, i think PWM is better than not having it for a lot of reasons. I will say this,, running a constant 10-14psi could have short term expensive reliability issues of its own... potentialy!!
Plus i was thinking what you are saying and that why i installed the...
I bought my hmc4 back in 2000. The first lift pump lasted 70k miles. Since then i have gone through 4 in half as many miles. I put it down to cheap manufacturing with cheap materials. Having recently completed the FTB mod the search has been on now for a better HO pump for the truck.
I chose...
Thanks for clearing that up for me!! Double sorry to Leroy Diesel AKA Burning Oil. If its any consolation i share your site on the HML and recommend Leroy Diesel, Walking J, Turbine Doc and the Truck Stop Forum there as well. Come to think of it im probably breaking forum rules there by doing...
