Summary :
If you let it idle normal for about 2-3 minutes and then kick in the high idle, there's no fishbite. CORRECT ?
I think it IS temp related. Everything is cold and you won't believe how much heat these engine produce right after the startup. While idling the IP gets more fuel than...
Sounds like a fuel delivery prob for me, too. When do you use the high idle ?
If it is cold outside. So I would say, if the temps go down, EVERY fluid gets a bit thicker so the liftpump has to do a bit more work to get the fuel up to the IP. IF the engine is running a few minutes the fuel...
Do yourself a favor and don't go with the old TLA nor with newer electric version. Go manually with the Posi-Lok System ! THAT is the solution. Slightly cheaper than the electric conversion, a bit more expensive than the old style TLA, but works everytime YOU decide that you need 4WD. It also...
Mine is also a 1995 (okay, with OEM chip), but the glows come on every start, equal if warm, cold, hot outside and engine temp. Only the time how long it glows changes.
They should come on.

I'm happy with my 180°F thermostat. Never I'll go back to the standard 195°F. With this my engine will get to hot while towing 5 tons. With the 180, the temp stays at 185° on the temp gauge.
But that's just my 2 cents.
Cu,
Sven
Absolutly correct ! That's what I told "NoDak" as he asked me about.
Not that we got different plugs here in europe, we also got 220V instead of 110V here. So I'll have to use a voltage converter from 220 down to 110 volts and the outlets of this converter are US-Style plugs so you can't...
Same here (Thanks to Dennis for getting one for and sending it across the pond) ! !

You're totally right, Dennis.
I hate this sound, so I don't start the truck if I forgot to plug in. I don't need it everyday and I've got another car (daily driver), so it isn't so important, if I forgot it.
Cu,
Sven
I have to Exide Maxxima 900 in mine and they will turn the engine over if it sits more than 2 or 3 weeks. Actually I drive my truck around 5000 to 6000 KILOMETERS per year, so you can count by yourself, how long the truck will sit sometimes.
For daily purposes I got a Mercedes C180.
