Anyone have any opinions on a good scanner for ABS brake codes? I already have two scanners for engine codes so if I could find one that just read brake codes that would be great. The newer the trucks get the more money I seem to have to invest in tools :rolleyes5: thanks guys

Does anyone have any helpful information in regards to replacing the air bag contacts in the steering column? Our 03' has the odd binding noise when turning which was diagnosed by the dealer as a rubbing contact switch. With over 300k miles things are bound to wear out. Does anyone have any...
I personally havent had the greatest luck with interstate batteries. Granted the trucks I had them in dont get used that often, which can be hard on any battery. I just thought for the price they should last at least 4-5 years. I have really good luck with NAPAs commercial line of batteries as...
Found this kinda funny......was watching the history channel today at lunch and they had this show called "apocolypse man" about surviving after a large catastrophy or disaster....They used an old suburban with a 6.2 to show how you could make your own diesel fuel from waste veggie oil. Suburban...
Tazz....Just watched your first video. Havent read the entire thread but.... My 96' is the exact same configuration as yours. 5spd, turbomaster, 4inch exhaust, but i have the stock programing and stock gm5 turbo.
Couple things i noticed, coolant temp runs a bit higher than mine, but your...
Now that I think of it, I was getting some EGR code a few months ago. "insufficient flow" i think. I kept clearing them because i thought it was from the 5" exhaust. They have not come back for a while but maybe its worth looking into..

Hey guys, my 06' LBZ has about 300mi left of the extended warranty and I was wondering if there is anything I should look for when I bring it to the dealer one last time. I purchased the truck new and so far all that I have replaced is the cooler lines, intermediate shaft, and 1 front wheel...
Thanks for the info...I had seen in an earlier thread that you were using the dashcommand so i looked into it. There seems to be alot of information to be had from that program...probably alot more than what the 6.5 gives out. Although I think it would be worth it just to be able to watch the...
This will be used on alot of different vehicles by the way. More so for diagnostics than anything else. I just want to make sure it will work with everything including the 6.5

Hey guys i know this topic has come up here before, but as technology is always changing, im sure the answers will be also.
I am looking to purchase a cord and scanner app for my iphone 3. I have a big code reader, but it always seems to be somewhere else when I need it. Having the phone app...
Ditch the flat box for the factory round style filter box (K47 opt). Theyer the best settup for the money. Drop in a high flow filter and i think you will be very happy. A forum search will turn up alot of information on this upgrade. If you are looking for the box they were used on 97' and up...
We had to do head gaskets in our 01 LB7.....but our 03' has 300K on the clock with no problems other than injectors. 05 LLY has had none of the above problems but alot lower miles too. IMO the LB7 was the best version of the Duramax. We have all three, and I will say I am very happy with the...
I believe that is the exact filter settup that is used on the 6.5 equiped vans. They were factory mounted under the cab on the frame rail with a spash shield.
Louis....Hijack away. No hurt feelings here. In regards to your fuel comment...This van runs untreated fuel in every tank. With so many different drivers I would never be able to keep an eye on who is fueling up the truck and if they are adding the correct amount of additive. With the small...
OK so a little update. Let the van sit overnight and then this morning I went out to restart. Started and idled as normal. I then proceded to drive around for about half an hour with almost zero issues. Ran great.
The only thing abnormal I noticed was after full throttle runs if you let off...
Ok guys, I need some help here. We have a 2000 chevy express van with the 6.5. Yesterday it started acting up and im having some trouble figuring out what is going on.
One of our guys was out on the road and it went into limp mode with an SES light. Limped it back to the yard where I got to...
I did mine this winter...also in the projects section. I chose just to use the headliner as the support rather than make holes into the cab metal. Not as strong obviously, but how much weight are you really going to be putting up there?
Leroy, the new site looks great! much easier to navigate and user friendly in general. Its nice to see so many products dedicated to the 6.5. Keep up the good work!

My 96 has 3.73's with the NV4500 and plenty of towing miles. 5th gear towing included. I recall hearing a issue with the dodge/cummins trucks towing in 5th but never anything about the 6.5's. Mines holding up just fine.
Barry you are nuts....looks like another nice find though!
