Now Mike, you are quick to blame foreign castings, just because a couple are bad don't mean its all junk!:stop:
Leo's block was US made.:p
90 % of the shit rolling around in the US is foreign made.:p
Every JD tractor but the big articulated 4 wheel drives are made oversea's:p
I had that happen on 3 point hitch arms bracket that was bolted to the sides on the rear end of my belarus.
The bolts had come loose and the treads in the holes where gone.
I drilled them up a size and tapped them 2" deep. in stalled 3/4" grade 8 studs glued in with green locktite.
I let it sit...
Mike,..i was never that eager to tackle these 2 man jobs alone but what does one do when the only one there is is you and there ain't no money to pay for help.
Today i am so used to working alone and set in my ways that a second guy would prob only annoy me.
But yeah i have to admit that stuff...
You should try it by yer lonesome in a narrow shop with a 10' ceiling and a dirt floor and without a fork lift and help and with the cab in place like i did.;)
Check for a collapsed tank, excessive vacuum has a tendency to do that.
BTDT. i take the valve out of the gas caps,...no more vacuum in my tanks,..gives better fuel pressure to boot.
I started on that project Last year. i renewed the bottom half of the long back wall and doubled up the rotted off poles.
I plan on doing some more this summer but i don't plan on doing it by myself(i had my fill last year trying to things with two hands when 6 were required).
My brother semi...
I guess i can't complain then.;)
I have an 18 x 32 attached garage for the wife's truck and it also serves as storage for the winters firewood.
Then i have the 70 x 46" shop,,Gawd how i love thatta one!.
And i have a 100 x 56 pole barn.
Plenty room for everything but the trailers.
Well yeah, we need at least one picture just to make sure you ain't making things up eh.....poke poke
We need better smilies on this site,...these current ones suck:(
Bottom cover can be removed.
if i remember well,.3 bolts in the rear, one left corner, one hidden high up mid way between cover and fire wall(bitch to get to)an other one on right corner between the heater hoses
1) maybe you have the wrong center section, most model years are slightly different from one other.
2) maybe your waste gate does not close all the way(carbon build up in the shaft bushing or on the flap valve)
3) check for a leaking doughnut or rusted out flare in the exhaust cross over
Yep a lathe is a handy tool.
I have a early fifties metric TOS, 80" between centers, will fit easy a 2' dia flywheel, i got it in 92.
I would not know what to do without it
What is that big circular mark on that piston??.
Leo I have a brand new block sitting here, looks like i never gonna use it..i sell it to you cheap!.
I have heads too..new in the box
