The head bolts were all very even as far as their tightness, it gets difficult to judge them by the time you're through all 34 of them (it is 17/ea, right?) I went through with a breaker bar and loosened them working from the ends to the middle, then switched to a ratchet and pulled all the...
Quick update:
Pulled the waterpump off, no leaks between it and the timing cover. Picked up some roloc discs and have begun cleaning the important surfaces. On the Passenger side head there are cracks between the valves of 6 & 8. On the Driver side head there are cracks between the valves of...
:willynilly: :willynilly: :willynilly: Holy mother of **** (pick a diety/being on a summit/mtn/place on high).
In 5 hours we two n00bs got both heads pulled off, and everything else to get to that point. Well, I had fun. I think it is a great learning experience, granted the timing is awful...
The couple -4500s I've shifted are definitely not car transmissions. They kinda hang up when I tried to shift them fast; 97 Ram 3500 12V, and David's 99 Silverado.

Aces, from what I can tell the slave cylinder on the 93 uses some o-ring sealed push-in style fitting, not a flare fitting.
If you're still working on tcase compatibility it sounds like a NP241 from a 88-91 Suburban/Blazer will bolt up to the NV4500.
Yup, dumb system, I prefer square body, gmt-400, gmt-800, & gmt-900. There are way too many year overlaps for the bodystyles.
Aces, I *might* be able to figure out what the thread dimensions are on the fittings for the hydraulics, will let you know.
I have no idea, but I am ready for some sunshine and warmth. I, too, like the look of the 5 on the tailgate, but I couldn't bring myself to do that to mine.
GMT-800 DRW rear clearance light:
I had this for my '07 but since that isn't going to happen I wanted to put it on something. I installed it this last weekend, centering it and filing the holes to the proper square dimensions for the OEM clips that I purchased with the light. David...
Last time I spoke to my dad he had not decided on how he was going to patch the holes in the doors. Since it will venture to the body shop at some point my dad will probably discuss the options then.
While David was working in the truck I was underneath removing what I shall politely refer to as "cowboy wiring". The trailer harness was fubared beyond belief, those extra running lights on that scaffolding were hacked into the REAR DUALLY FENDER clearance lights. There was a pair of CB...
Oh, so my dad got this truck as he intends to buy a gooseneck large enough to haul either the D4-7U, JD 3020, or vibratory roller that he recently bought. He wanted the added tires of a dually to do so. This thing was priced right to allow him lots of room to customize it.
Initial plans...
Disclaimer: It burns gasoline. :hihi:
