Yep, my Motor T is going through a pretty tough FSMAO and then a CGRI right afterwards... Definitely will be getting some starter bolts for spares though. Looks you and I have essentially the same truck being heavy half's and all unless yours is an 8 lugger. Mine has the ATT and a veggie oil...
No chunks of the block missing thank God! I could get bolts from my motor pool since they work for me.... But we are going through a tough inspection right now and thought the right thing to do would be to grab replacements from Napa. Same grade and all just different color. I'm really pissed...
WarWagon, what do you mean by the bracket is clearly Not on the engine? I was able to remove the starter today and although the bracket bolt that goes to the block was loose, it was definitely there. I don't remember seeing a heat shield either... Yes I am definitely regretting my choice in a...
yeah definitely no starting fluid in this motor. It's had no problem starting at all especially since it only has roughly 20K miles on it. It's not hard to start a diesel at all here in Hawaii on Oahu.
this is the same pic I just sent to the owner of the shop. I've had to yell at him and his wife since she just happened to be there back when my tranny was replaced in March. Turns out the tranny was fine and it was the transfer case! The transfer case had the old style shift fork instead of...
Yeah it just happened to this guy..... luckily I was in my driveway when said bolts sheard. Brand new starter installed by a very reputable transmission shop back in March. Also luckily, they are trying to fit me in to their schedule to have it repaired.
Got those measurements!
Leroy,
I finally got those measurements since I did an oil change today. See pictures. Also, not even sure if I have the O ring that is located at the base of the holes on the bolt in the proper location. Let me know thanks! Again, I apologize for taking so long...
So, if I had already done an ATT install which means I had to cut my upper intake per the directions, what would be the best course of action for me to be able to utilize this spacer? Have the piece that I cut off welded back on or use a longer straight silicone hose?
Is this problem solved yet? If not, I'm not trying to insult anyone's intelligence but if it is a 4X4, is the transfer case in 4H or 4L? If so, the truck will naturally slow (brake) itself down due to the axles being locked up while turning. Just thought. Hope you have gotten it fixed!
Just did this yesterday and it was about a 2 hour job. Most difficult/time consuming part of the job was removing the nut that was right above the steering column. I luckily had gear wrenches but it still took a while. Question though, I replaced mine with a rebuild from O'reilly's and...
