Got my new injectors (100 for a set of 8 brand new delphi) :) :) :) super excited to get them set to 2100 and put in this week, hopefully, along with a set of glows.
Saw that one a while back (i think) but still very cool. Has anyone around here tried dual pumps?? How built would that thing have to be to handle all that fuel and boost? probably wouldnt be the best DD, lol.
are the NA and turbo nozzles the same? i asked one guy for a quote to re set the pressure and he quoted 25 per injector (YEAH RIGHT!!!) and said he "might have to change the nozzles" sounds like a rip off to me. so many mechanics in toronto are scammers....
sonoco has ultra 94 octane fuel for gas engines and 'gold diesel' for diesels. i think it is about 3c more a litre. my truck seems like it runs better on it, but it could just be me. are you using any additive in your fuel? that may help. also, when was the last time you changed the fuel filter...
i find sonoco gold diesel gives a slight mileage improvement over regular diesel, but winter mileage is always worse than in the summer months, i think it is a combination of winter fuel as well as the cold. thats most likely what you are noticing. Also, you cannot really accurately gauge your...
my favorite PMD moment was when i first bought the truck. about a week later it started stalling, PMD was mounted in stock location. I could usually wait it out and start her back up with no problems, but one time i stalled on a main street in toronto. Had to call up my dad who luckily lives in...
my fan has the same problem, ticks when it's on anything except for highest or lowest settings. havent had any problems with the switch yet though and its been doing it over a year. anyone else had this problem?
Broke out my block heater today. Was still in the original stock location strapped to the frame. I dont think it had ever been used, but the truck still started fine in up to -20 just a little smoky. AHhh what a good feeling of opening the cover off that fresh new plug. Seems to work Ok too -...
i ran without a resistor for about a month no problems on a 6ft extension with a custom cooler. i would get one though, for the price....they are dirt cheap
next time youre out on a boat (inboard OR outboard) look at where the prop is. at low speed/idle not much exhaust will come out of the prop port ( if any ) but give her some juice and you'll start to see a stream of exhaust air come out of the prop ! that oughhta be good for the whales :P
I think mostly for heat, but also for sound as well. Some boats have straight pipes but can also have watercooled exhaust manifolds as well but those are mostly performance and ALOT louder. take for example an outboard. there are usually 2 spots where the exhaust comes out. a port on the upper...
most outdrives run ex through them. ive got a merc bravo one and a 350 chev. watercooled exh manifolds and exhaust thru the drive right @ the prop. i believe its called a 'wet exhaust'
my truck in -20c last winter, after being left for almost a week , not plugged in. orginal glows at 160,000KM. getting new ones in a couple weeks.Dont want this to happen again !
is this after your rebuild slug?
im in the same boat here matt. its leaking a tiny bit - more like sweating and im petrified to touch it and have it snap off inside the housing. ive started coating it in pb blaster, giving it a week then im gonna try it.
you will most likely (almost guaranteed) have to put a PMD on it unless it's been relocated already. they can be had for like 3-400$ including a good cooler and no warranty, or almost double that for a 7 year warranty from heath diesel these are very prone to failure in these trucks and it is a...
I plugged mine and didnt notice any audible difference. The biggest sound difference i noticed was when i tried a "hot air intake" cone filter straight on the turbo, but for obvious reasons that didnt last.
So i was poking around under my truck today and i noticed that I could fit a way larger oil filter on. The current 'stock' filter measures 5 inches. I think something as large as 8 would fit and still be lower than the oil pan. Mind you, this is on a 2wd truck. Has anyone ever had any experience...
