Well I decided it was time to get a new lift pump so went in search of an frb 5. Found the thread about the price increase coming, and the possible lack of availability. Thinking it might be a good thing to wait on the frb 28, but doesnt seem to be any definate release time, or pricing on that one either.

Raptor seems grossly overpriced.

I looked at the "new improved" delphi hfp953 for the '98-'02 dodge cummins, but cant find any solid specs on the thing. The guy I talked too in Pensacola says it should put out about 12-16 psi out of the box, as thats what dodge specifies, but didnt have any gph flow rates. Searched around the net a bit and cant find anything either.

Wondering if anyone has tried one of these on their 6.5 yet, or had any other suggestions/options/ideas for a new lift. Getting ready to tear into the truck in a week or so to do some front end work, FTB, and add a fuel pressure gauge, new rear shocks, etc, etc, etc,. Truck will be down for a week-10 days so now's the time.

I am currently looking for a stock cummins pump to put on my slightly modded 6.5. I found a guy on a cummins forum that is going to sell me his for 40 bucks used. 80k on it. (i have a fuel pressure gauge and extras so if it goes no biggy) He says it put out 12-14, and dropped down to 5 on a modded cummins at WOT. Cant wait to try it out with my FTB mod and the chip.

Lifetime warranty on a Raptor. Figure how many other ones you will burn up...Then the cost seems relavant although I have never heard of one failing anyway.

I had someone ask me about these ^ Ive not had one to play with yet, but specs seem good and I can sell for $95.

That does look interesting indeed, and the price is right. I missed the part in the description about it being flow on fail? Although it seems there's nothing to fail other than the 12vdc connection.

I take the rest of the post to mean you still have the frb5 available at $95.00?
Didnt see it on your web site, so assumed it was NLA.

Walbro specs for the FRB-5 Diesel one say life >18,000 hours, add in a prefilter prior to it possibly more than 18,000 3 years thus far on my $40 "used but good one" and I suspect the rebuild kit will bring down the cost, I need to call Walbro to see if such a kit exists.

Dont look bad at all but where is the price. Altho I think I am still gonna save the money for a AirDog system.

30 gph is just a hair above the GM stock lift 28gph, so IMO not suited for max performance, Air dog IMO too much $$$ and takes a LOT of real estate to mount it.

Burning Oil - How long would it take to get that facet-purolator pump then? And would you take a card over the phone? Paypal can suck my ass honestly...

I think that new improved Cummins pump is a decent price and if same performance as original or better then a good fit for the modified 6.5. And as TD has pointed out, if they really are flow on fail.

That puralator looks like a good deal for the price.

I will have to save this for when I replace my LP.

I already have a small pre LP filter, just need to get it installed.

Both Puralator and FRB5 are $95. Would take a couple days to get them in once ordered.
I do take postal money orders or Paypal

Well right after I posted the above I checked the rest of my email and had one from my supplier of Walbro. The FRB 5 is now $130

Sorry Turbine Doc I get a little bit frustrated with my phone here and just post up where I'm at is all.

Anyone know a good source for that Delphi hfp953 pump? I checked rock auto and it's like $180 or so new...

I'm the one that asked Leroy about the Purolator-Facet lift pump. I was interested it because of the 10 ft lift and the higher pressure than stock. And, I don't see my truck or any other 6.5 using more than 30 gph. That's either a lot of RPMs or MPHs  , considering I get 17 mpg at 70 mph.

Anyhow, I'm glad to see some discussion on it.

Well, with the frb 5 at $130.00 I have renewed interest in the hfp953.

I searched around some of the dodge cummins forums to see if I could turn up any info on it. It seems those gentlemen are way more interested in just going the FASS/AirDog/Raptor route than fooling with anything remotely stock.

Seems all the "customer service" numbers on the Delphi site are dead ends as well.

Would really like to know what the flow is, and make certain it is flow on fail before becoming the guinea pig. I'll keep digging, and let you all know what I turn up.
