Yukon diesel (Mass)

Let me know what you find out Kenny, it would be worth risking me getting in trouble dragging it back to MS next month, my son wants a 6.5 that would be perfect for him, it might be worth getting that for him vs. all the body work I need to do on his 90 4.3 gasser C1500

I'll let you know if I don't want it. I was thinking of a replacement for the Burb. I love my Burb and it runs mint but between the rust and it not being very good on the hgway it maybe time to swap up. The Yukon has 210k on it. I'm not getting my hopes up. I think it's gonna be a rust bucket.

Kenny, i have plenty of room in the barn if you need it. That is for you, not the yukon. :D

Let us know how it looks. I figured higher miles just because it wasnt listed in the add. I had the phone in my hand, but I had to hold myself from calling. Still trying to move the suburban and told myself not to buy anything until it was gone.

I find myself looking all the time, even though i shouldnt. Although i might buy a 6.2 pickup for cheap to plow with this winter as my plow truck dosent look to be finished before the snow flies.

well.....He is a used car dealer. 1st strike although he was upfront. He said he bought it from the Auction a few days ago and hoped to roll it over quick. I don't think he realized what he got into. He showed me the invoice from Southern Auction and he paid 2520$ for it and is willing to sell it to me for 2500$ to get it of the lot. It's a 95 not a 96.The title he has for it showed it had the same owner from 37k miles.

OK here's the bad:
Ex leak on pass side which is most likey the manifold. I have to assume the worst.
Major Oil leaks by the filter. Probably oil filter adaptor and lines which BTW Lines of course are leaking as well.
It has a little blowby, not horrible. About what you'd expect from a motor with 220,000.
Power seats not working
Drivers side door panel broken
AC ducts not working properly and not getting full CFM
Brakes feel horrible.
Steering feels VERY heavy. Possible bad PS pump or box. Feels like driving with two flats.
Has fishbite, PMD on a SS cooler on manifold.
Rust....
The following needs replacement:
Tailgate, both front fenders.
Both quaters are rotted by hte back of the doors and bad. They are repairable. Oddly the doors on the truck which are usually what rusts are mint.(well drivers anyway. Forgot to look at pass).
Underneath not bad. Floors rockers etc were undercoated and look fine. Fuel lines looked ok. Frame has rust but no rot.

The good:
Power everything
New rad
INertior in overall decent shape. Not showroom but not bad.
Drove decent 4x4 works tranny felt ok but fluid was brown.

Of course it will need all the usual..
Cooling system upgrade
Ex upgrade
PMD ext cable at minimun, possibly a PMD.

I told him I would take it tommorow but I didn't give a deposit so I could bail if I wanted to. I got him down to 2500$ which is 20$ less than he paid. The truck IMHO needs about 2,000-3,000$ worth of parts to make a lady out of it and it still has a tired 220K motor in it. My dliema now is should I really go through with this ? It would replace the Burb but the burb only has 111k and runs MINT. The bad on the burb is it can no longer tow due to chssis rot and I use it alot on the highway and it does not have overdrive so fuel mileage is horrible and the truck is slow. But it is SUPER dependable. The Yukon could be a rag. The only good thing is it does not appear the guy made any attempts to hide anything. Basically he washed it , cleand the interior and put it on CL.
What do you guys think ?
How ironic that I sold a green 2000 K3500 and a Green 95 Tahoe and now own a Black 2000 K3500 and looking to buy a Black 95 Yukon.
Also Ironic..My Tahoe was a chevy and my old 2000 was a GMC, Now the roles are reversed....
What should I do ?

go find that dodge you dumped too soon...

You mean the one that has probably had an IP and tranny work done to it by now ? No thanks...:nonod:
I have a little rule of thumb. everything breaks down but when it doesn't atleast get me home...It goes.
The dually got an exception because the breakdown was minor and I could have gotten it home with minor repair. It was hot and I was lazy.
