Yet another 6.5 build --- this one for towing

You don't need pressure, you NEED volume. Pressure does you no good if your not getting oil volume. I've seen engines running 60 lbs of oil pressure lockup from oil starvation because the oil wasn't getting where it needed to be. Run the lowest viscosity oil you can while holding minumum oil pressure desired, and keep the oil pressure down to say 45-50 max hot. Anymore is just wasted HP doing nothing but creating heat in your oil and wearing out your oil pump drive and gears. Trying to push more oil pressure than needed is only adding load and wearing your oil pump out as you can only push so much oil through the galley orifices and bearings.

I'm running synthetic 0w40 in my '99 with non-Optimizer block. When hot, the pressure is 30 psi at idle and 40+ psi when driving.

Any clue who owns this now? This build would be one that would be nice to hear updates about.
Only disappointing part of rereading this thread was wanting to see a video of the unit getting worked hard to watch it’s capacity and knowing how the story ends!
So a happy ending of the truck going to another new owner and a quick flashback on the movie screen of Which when Chris mentioned if he had it to do again would be a 3500cc and a p400- and the words
TO BE CONTINUED...

Yep thought I posted it here. As of a month or so ago it was for sale. When i get to my home pc i can post the info. He made a video, painted it, new interior, motor is as strong as it was when built and has not needed a single replacement part. Don't if it's sold or not his price was 6500 obo.

Eric sold the truck a few weeks ago... I do have the current owners contact info, sent it to the other person that was inquiring about it today...

On a side note in the video it sounded good didn't it....

I have to go to Kentucky next week so I was thinking I could pick it up then possibly. I'll give it a try. Thx Chris
