Wireless router?

I got her licked boys,i got it working.:)

i phoned the D-link help line and they guided me trough the process:thumbsup:
Should've done that right away.;)

Thanks all of you for your input:hello:

i doubt that very much, only advice i would prob give when the damn thing has a problem is to go use it as a base under a trailer jack and get a new one.:D

I actually thought you might find a use for that black powder rifle of yours:hihi:

Glad you got it licked Simon, I've been there and done that many times over the years. That gives me experience....You are connected to some ofo the best home based equipment on the market. Your next step is to purchase a NAS to store and back up your information. Good luck....

i'm glad to hear that.

I'm not out of the woods yet,now i have a problem with having to enter my username every time i log in(this site and others),checking the "remember me" box don't help. Yet under privacy in tools menu the remember password box is checked on.
Whats up with that,it worked always fine before.

BTW,what is NAS mean

NAS = "Networked Attached Storage" ... it's a hard drive subsystem that plugs into your router with an ethernet cable - you can treat it like a separate Storage bin, which gives it some immunity from viral attack and helps protect your data.

As for the user/password memory thing, I dunno... it should stay stored in your browser cache. You didn't change your browser settings, did you?

You might need to enable cookies, if the router came with some kind of crappy security software stuff it may have disabled stuff like cookies. Or I usually try to disable Windows defender or Windows firewall stuff.

If you go to "tools" tab in internet explorer, the bottom option is "internet options" there will be security and privacy tabs in the window that pops up. Look in there to see if you are restricting cookies from sites. Or go to the help tab and type in cookies for some help.

Also if your browser is out of date or set to delete history on closing. Another problem for those who may read this...I don't think they do it anymore but for awhile the cable companies cable modems had a sneaky little security feature embedded in them that would lock the modem to the first mac address it saw and there was no way to release it. They would not admit it but a tech that worked there told me they were doing it to try and keep people from using routers which in the beginnings of broadband was the rule. I don't think they do that anymore realizing they had to eat alot of modems.

I checked all that you guys suggested,it seems all ok.

I had this problem with fire fox.
switching to windows internet explorer solved the password problem, but gave me TTS problems, half the time when i post i get a blank or "webserver can not be found" sometimes i have to retry twice before it connects.

Google does the same thing

most icons obscure the headings again and some Avatars, pics and smilys dont show up either.

I got no probs with other sites.

Make sure you are running the latest versions of both FireFox and Internet Explorer, Bison. Look under the 'Help' menu in Firefox and select 'Check for Updates'. (I'm running version 3.6.8)
